I think you know Benitez would get us organised and hard to beat from day one, I guess the main risks are his curious transfer strategy at Liverpool, refusal to
give youth a chance, and the fact that if he were to go on a bad run of results the fans would get on his back because his style of football is safety first, rigid, and not the type we Spurs fans crave.

Pretty much this. I'm not doubting his managerial ability. But the football will not excite and he has had his fair share of run-ins with the media. And the media are very capable of contributing to getting someone sacked.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

I think Tuchel is exactly the TYPE of manager levy wants. Someone young, long tenure potential, can work within budgets, will make the most of our shiny new training ground can manage a squad, intelligent and media friendly.

In terms of the players, I'm not sure it would be an issue. I don't see many big egos. Perhaps Verts? What I see is a talented group of young individuals that needs moulding into a team. I think Tuchel could win them over with his methods and his conduct. As soneone said, his players LOVE him. And to be honest, if anyone wasn't into it, then I would show them the door. We don't need personalities like that in the squad. They are toxic. Tuchels team has always been about the collective as opposed to the individual anyway, which is something I believe we were striving for this year.

He would be a risk, sure. But every appointment has risk attached. For a club of our stature, there is no such thing as a dead cert. You just have to weigh up the potential reward. And if it paid off, we could be rewarded handsomely.

This ^^^^

The more i think about it, the more i think we need a project manager, the only issue is giving that person time to implement something, anything, and i will include myself in the impatient group sometimes. We have such a great squad, we just need someone who is flexible enough to take it further.

The only issue with someone like Tuchel is he is a small budget manager, sometimes they don't translate well to larger budget teams.

LVG is still a front runner, but if we are looking a Pochettino (spelling + i am not sure about, my personal onion feel free to disagree) then we should look at someone like Tuchel who seems more progressive from what i am reading (could all be baaalaccks)

I would also take a gamble on Tuchel over a gamble on Pochettino.

They'll probably go shopping for head wax together, and end up best friends.

While shopping for head wax together, they'll also run into Sir Ben Kingsley, and it will be the beginning of yet another beautiful friendship!!

Im expecting the new man to be Italian or to have strong links to Baldini.
Baldini must have a huge say on who comes in surley, otherwise whats the point of him being here?

Worryingly likely. Good chance we could have an Italian boss.

As all managers seem to be a risk what about Murat Yakin from Basle? Young, promising coach, Basle play good football, impressed against us and worked Chelsea over twice in the Champions League...

I wouldn't be overly disappointed by him.
As you say, Basel play really good football and know how to beat Chelsea.

My only reservation is that he is at a club that worship him (imagine Ledley King being in charge of Spurs.) He has the full support of everyone. He may simply be a good fit for that club. At Spurs Yakin is a complete stranger.

Not Moyes or Sherwood. I'm intrigued by Tuchel, but I have a sneaking suspicion it will be Pochettino!

Back in December: de Boer.

Now: Van Gaal or Benitez.

If it's Pochettino I break shit.

Yes, Tuchel is the type of manager Levy wants. So was Andre.

But Benitez or Van Gaal is the type of manager Levy needs. Someone who knows better than him. Someone who he'll have more than face saving and money as a reason to suspend the P45.

I won't be disappointed if we appoint a fancypants European style icon, but I won't be particularly optimistic either. It'll probably just be the same as AVB's first season - a fair few highlights, but in the context of everything, it means nothing.
