Very strong rumours coming out of Holland that he will take the Spurs job after the World Cup. Would be very happy with that one if true!

But who will take charge until then? Sherwood has been very obvious in stating he doesn't want the job as an interim, so would it be Hoddle until the summer?

Would you be happy with Van Gaal, and also, would you sacrifice a few months of Sherwood / Hoddle if it means we get him in the summer?

As long as he comes in with an assistant/takes on someone from the club who has future management potential. At 62 he's not necessarily a long-term option. Don't see Freund as a future manager if I'm honest.

He gets 5 years he's beating every other manager we had in the last 30 years.

After the link with Van Gaal I checked out his management history and the statistics stand up pretty well, I would put him in the same bracket as Capello personally, he's had massive success at club level, he has his way of managing a club and has been known to ruffle feathers, I still am not convinced this is the manager that spurs are looking at but if he comes in part time now or after the World Cup I think the club would be in good hands

One hugely arrogant sob and not the kind of personality I could see winning over the hearts and minds of either the players or the board. I hope there's nothing in this

Talk of Levy going to Holland today to meet him from numerous Dutch media sources. Was levy at st.marys though?

Van Gaal is a top coach still and one things for sure, he doesn't take any shit. My only concern is whether he still has that hunger for club football.

I once talked to one of most highly regarded coaches in the world. He told me the worst 3 coaches/managers he has ever observed work are John Tosack(at madrid) louis Van Gaal and i cant remember the other one(think it was Vanderlei Luxemburgo). He had nothing but bad things to say about Van Gael, his methods and philosophies.

By all accounts Levy wasn't at St Mary's

From Football Oranje

Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal has responded to speculation that he could be the next Tottenham manager.
Reports in England and Netherlands had suggested that Louis van Gaal was now Tottenham’s number one choice to replace the sacked Andre Villas-Boas.

Dutch reporters NOS are reporting that Louis van Gaal even watched today’s Tottenham win over Southampton with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in his house in Noordwijk.

When asked about this by NOS, Van Gaal denied the meeting, and would not confirm the interest from Tottenham saying, “I never give comment on offers I get.”

He added on his chances of becoming the next Spurs boss, “I said i wanted to work in the Premier League, so there is a chance.”

Tottenham are believed to want Van Gaal to take charge now, and share his duties with the Netherlands national team until he leaves the job in the summer.

However this is not an option for Van Gaal, ”Anyone who knows me knows i would not do that. That is certainly not the case.”

Reading into the Dutchman’s comments it appears he would welcome the opportunity to manage Tottenham, but it would have to wait until he leaves his position with the Netherlands after the World Cup.
