You'd doddle it if you were a Trappist monk.Going up on Sunday morning with two Newcastle supporters. Sitting in their end should be fun!.
No laughing!!
I see your logic, Sevens, and it's one of those arguments that cuts both ways, but on balance I'd prefer to play Newcastle when they're already down and take the risk that they'll play better with freedom/without pressure rather than go there with them needing to get a result against us to stay up. Hard to say until after we've played them!I would have actually preferred it if Newcastle still had a chance. They would have been more nervy and forced to attack us (and we can be devastating on the counter).
Now I fear we have a situation where Poch has told the players finishing above Arsenal is no big deal and where the Newcastle players can have a Premier League swansong and play without fear (and no doubt some will be trying to put themselves in the shop window.
Sadly I can't see us winning there. A draw is as good as it gets, which would be good enough for us to stumble over the line to 2nd place.
I'm heading up this morning from Leicester to see the band The Heavy. Is anyone going with 2 spare tickets? Where's everyone drinking?
Could be right. However, if that was the scenario the toon army would be well up for it and be behind the team to get them pumped, now that they are relegated the fans' focus and mood will have changed, for some of them it'll be a chance to protest and make their feelings felt towards the players and board, could be a poisonous atmosphere. So, if our players are focused on the task in hand I can see them getting the job done.I would have actually preferred it if Newcastle still had a chance. They would have been more nervy and forced to attack us (and we can be devastating on the counter).
