It is nearly upon us, for most of you reading this, the game is today, unfortunatly for me I still have half a days work, and a full nights (almost full) sleep before THE game.

The tension and wait has had me as I am sure all of you in agony since the final whistle against Bolton, and for many, even before that.

There seems to be a equal devide between the confident and the pessimistic, I myself keep switching from minute to minute :(

If we are to win, or draw, it is going to take a extremley great performance from the entire team, and I would include Harry in that.

But to win games like this, there is going to be one or two who play with that extra something special, Bale against Chelsea, Defoe v Wigan, Berbatov vs Bolton back in the day etc... someone is going to have to play a blinder, be our match winner, our hero.

So fellas, as the pre-match hype goes into overdrive, he is it going to be, he is going to win us this match, if there was one player you had to pick to forever be in your hearts as the man who clinched us fourth spot on the 5th of May 2010, who would it be?

Bale to be the hero! I'm with you mate, stuck at work in Melbourne counting down the hours before I have to drag my butt out of bed to watch the game.

Then either go to work buzzing or sit in the corner very quietly...

It's a huge match for us and i really hope our players perform.

Great thread mate. Esp love the bit in bold - if someone does do it, they will be in our hearts forever.

I know it can't be, but I kind of wish it was Keano to be honest. I wish he'd not left in the first place and was still on form. For him to rip the oilers a new one would be magical.

Moving on, it has to be Michael Dawson for me. This has been his breakout season. He's been a rock at the back, an inspirational leader and scored the odd goal. I'd love to see him bury a header from a Bale corner/free and send us off to Europe on a glorious adventure! You can just see that he loves playing for our club and every time the fans sing his name, his face lights up like a kid at Christmas. Dawson - the new King of White Hart Lane!!!

Like you fellas, it's a looooooong afternoon of work for me here in SADelaide, followed by a sleepless night while I stare at the roof in anticipation of my alarm (tune Glory, Glory:grin::bowdown:) at 4:15am.

My coffee table is clear in preparation for a celebratory victory jig.

Anyhoo, catch you all in live chat.

COME ON YOU SPURS

Yep Dawson is def my player of the season. Wins everything, no frills, loves to tackle and is willing to put his body on the line for his team. If only we had 11 of him....

Im also downunder, checking this forum ever hour for any breakthrough news or opinions! haha

I think Lennon could be our hero!! The last 2 games he's been taking it easy, all in preperation for this game v Citeh!!!

I can picture it now... Lennon running Bridge and Viera ragged, so much so that one of them gets sent off! And then in the 78th minute he cuts inside and slams a shot home past the hapless Fulop. WINNER

Monday night I dreamt we won 1-0!!! I have officially gone bonkers

If Gomes plays he'll be our hero

You heard it here first

Scoring hero?

IF we find ourselve behind, it would be absolutely EPIC to be throwing the kitchen sink at them late and have Gomes equalise with a header from a corner.

I would FAP FAP on my telly if that happened!

I reckon BAE will do it, and be mildly happy that he has won us the FA cup, before becoming massively pissed off when Harry tells him all the fuss is just over fourth place in the league.

He will then be mystified when he exits Eastlands, fails to find Wembley Park station and is not able to use his oyster card.

I just have a feeling it'll be our night. Dawson, king ( hopefully) BAE and Kaboul will be defensive rocks while hudd and Luka run things from midfield and bale and Lennon tear city's fullbacks to shreds, putting chances on a plate for Defoe and pav to put away. Wilson will come on for a striker and we'll close the game out with a 2 or 3 nil lead.

Jesus Christ I hope that's the way it pans out....
