We wouldn't be forced to alter much from our current first choice line-up. If Hudd plays CM. So effectively, we'd be compliant. I don't think Blatter is proposing that squads only have 5 players from foreign in total.

Having said that, my top 5 spurs players from the foreign are the same as yours.

Really you would rather have Chimbs and Gunter over Hutton?

Does it limit the number of English players or British players?

Surely Bale, Gunter, Hutton etc wouldn't count as foreign?

do gunter, bale and keane not count as home grown then, i though it meant that the player spends 3 years of their development (16-21) in the country no matter what nationality they are

The way blatter proposed it, I don't think it limits the squad.. it's 5 foreign players in the starting eleven that's the rule as I understood it... and that welsh, scots, and irish wouldn't count as foreign either...

So we wouldn't have any problem...

my 5 if i'm right would be

Berbatov
Modric
Dos Santos
Coupet
Makoun/Veloso

The last ones assuming we buy them naturally...

I honestly don't think that this will ever be implemented. I know that it has been voted for by FIFA but I think that the PC crew will get hold of this and say it is a breach of human rights or it's against european employment law.
The last time that there was a rule like this Irish, Scotish and Welsh players were deemed foreign....... does anyone know for sure that they would not be counted this time.
Iwould love this to happen for so many reasons........ I bet the arse down the road is shitting himself.

I think it means domestic players i.e. English - so even the Irish, Welsh and Scottish (unless signed to our academy) would count as foreign.

From what I can gather even foreign players signed to the academies would still be counted as foreign as this is all being implemented to try and encourage the youth from each country to progress to the top level through the academy system.
