Unlikely, he's black.

He's normally a central defender I think, although he does look on the small side for this position to me.

Cannavaro, Bersi, toure, Mabutt... there are little exceptions to the rule.

Reserves squad. (Ledley King)

I had a look at the reserves squad for the match against Liverpool (see official site).
Rocha is included in the squad but Ledley is not. Could he still be recovering from the last reserves game or was he included last time just for an odd appearance?

Anyone knows anything?

I have to confess to not knowing who Bersi is?

But if he's half as good as any of the other 3 he will be a decent player.

Two possible interpretations for the absence of Ledley:

i) he's had a small setback;

ii) looking at him in training, Ramos has decided it's better to give him 45/60 mins in the first team.

However, given that many think this Liverpool reserves game was specifically arranged to help Ledley's recovery, i) is probably more likely and so it is a tad concerning...

maybe a good omen!
he could be in line to play a part in tomorrows game somehow? maybe 45 mins, then ready for the big one against the goons?

if they were going to play him in the res game they might as well have put him in the squad against man city instead thats the way i look at it.

lets just wait and see who is in the squad for tomorrow's game.

If this is their thinking then surely he would have played 45 minutes tonight to assess him and his fitness further?

i thought he would play in this one but until someone says anything as to why he isnt and whether he is playing at the w'end we are just guessing and assuming.
Other than injuries to specific areas i'd imagine that Ledley's fitness is pretty high so doesnt have to play many games to get in a rhythm just needs to strengthen the weak point through training.

Apparently he was almost fit to play against Portsmouth but he had a little knock. Wouldn't be surprised if he featured against City tomorrow at some stage
