What's new

Why are we conceding from so many high balls in to the box lately?

I think many of those heights are just made up aren't they? It's plainly obvious that Davies and Sessegnon are nothing like 5'6". Aaron Lennon is about 5'6"!!!!
Siri helping me convert the cm to ft and inches might have gone awry. I don't know what the hell 188cm means. But tell me 6ft 1" and we're cool. ?

[EDIT] - heights on fbref (in cm)

I wouldnt even say its recent. Our goals conceded v goals scored from cornes is shocking, or certainly seems that way.
Even under Poch for a while I was worried everytime we conceded a corner.
Incredible we've had 3 defensive coaches now and still cant defend set pieces.
Says a lot about our players imo.

I personally dont think its a height issue. I think at times we let the cross come in too easily be it from the fullbacks not being tight enough or the likes of son offering very little assistance so they have extra players wide but more than that i think its due to the lack of organisation in the box and too much ball watching rather than an awareness of where the attackers are and attacking the space and even doing enough to make a challenge. We have conceded far too many unchallenged headers in my view recently. It one thing to get beat in the air, completely another to have someone unmarked.
