Pulisic is a decent alternative but can't cover CF spot like Zaha. Martial won't happen, I think we won't get anyone in this position and we will stick with N'Koudou and hope we don't miss Son too much.

Please god no.

Most likely scenario imo

Not being funny but Martial was off the menu and then he was back on it.

Grealish wasn't happening and now there's talk that it might happen.

Zaha was on, then off, back on and now dead so forgive me if I don't freak out at this latest development.

I always appreciate ITK but I never get carried away one way or the other.
Very spot on.....

Most people have not really understood the prerequisites of itk.... You need a sack of salt, then understanding the itk is part of the transfer window fun time.

Fundamentally, when you get sucked into the drama you end up been burnt however sometimes it comes to fruition.

Zaha, AM, JG ITK has never been 100% certain. So if it's dead how can you be upset about it

My only gripe is we haven't strengthen this window and I believe buying anyone now is pointless as you can't expect much from the player this season without having a preseason with the team. Same old same old, as my papi always said only a fool will keep repeating the same thing over and over again and expect a different result.
I have stopped being a fool.

I know clubs can be in completely different situations but with them being linked to another few players today there's a good chance that West Ham could end up spending £100m more than us in this window. There's something very wrong with that.

This deal seemed to be shaping up nicely (in my head). First (tenuous) media link broke last night, palace suddenly on the verge of signing multiple players and then @Hercules kills it off with four letters!

I've had a bad feeling about this window for a while now, and nothing is suggesting otherwise thus far!

I still want to be believe, we always make signings in the summer, and the stakes seem too high not too, but the way things are shaping up I certainly wouldn't put any money on it...

What's the worst that can happen? (just kidding, it's: Toby is sold with no replacement, Rose is sold with no replacement, Barca comes in with a late large bid for Eriksen and he bolts bc we didn't bring in anyone to strengthen the squad, Poch mentally checks out, the stadium doesn't open in time and we have to beg the FA to play another season at Wembley, Poch leaves in the Spring, no other legitimate manager wants to come after seeing what happened with Poch, Kane leaves, Dele leaves)

Never knew Zaha dying would have such an impact.

The meltdown is coming. Easier just to accept we're going to sign no one and anything is a bonus.
I think signing no one would be better than what most of us fear which is panic buying of garbage at the last minute. That is what we really need to prepare for because that is Levy’s MO and that is far worse than signing nobody.

Most of the players we've been linked to would be equal to buying said garbage at the start of the window though. I don't really feel like we've missed out on any realistic targets that would improve the squad in any significant way.

Maybe because any player that would improve our squad significantly would be an unrealistic target? I don't know..

Martial aside I fully agree, which is itself a pretty damning comment yet again on our scouting and transfer strategy, both of which appear almost non-existent for quite some time now.
