we're already set with attacking players. Need midfielders. Someone is going to bolt if we bring another attacking player in - is Zaha really better than what we have?
Zaha would effectively replace all of GKN, Janssen, and Llorente. It seems that Poch has come to believe that our Kane alternatives need to be able to play out wide or else they'll never get the playing time needed to establish rhythm and confidence. We have one player like that already in Son and Poch obviously wants to add another in either Martial or Zaha.

I suppose the sticking point could be making mends with Zaha and his agent - didn't we annoy them with derisory offer last time?

I wasnt even thinking of those guys. Moura and to a lesser extent Lamela are already struggling for games.

I'm just saying that Poch obviously wants a player in this mould so he must envision a role for him within the squad.

His agent and Zaha?

It doesn't sound like Palace would be the issue here, more so whether or not we upset Zaha and his agent last time. I think it was breezer who said our offer to Zaha and agent was derisory?

Yeah sorry I misread your post.

Lamela got a lot of minutes once he returned. Lucas was clearly bought without the expectations of having an immediate impact, pretty sure he will have much more involvement next season.

If we have 8 attackers (including centre forwards) all firing, we'll blitz the early rounds of the cup competitions and pick up vital points over the busier periods in the league

Makes sense to be honest

and Zaha, too? we only play four attackers at a time and there are only so many minutes in a season. Zaha would bring us to 7 attacking players not counting Llorente. Kane, Dele and Eriksen are pretty much nailed on. That leaves 4 players fighting for one spot or hoping to sub in.

We definitely need a mid. The ITK says Poch wants more unpredictability. The reason we're predictable isn't because of the attacking talent we have, it's because we've got nobody who can pass forward quickly and accurately to get the likes of Eriksen and Alli on the ball when the opposition's defence is not yet set.

I've given up hope of a proper midfielder. Reckon Poch just wants bruisers who just sit and play it sideways and simple to keep possession. Even Winks has started to go into sideways mode a bit and I don't think that's his fault. I think he's just following instructions.
