haha, well maybe i just don't see football as something to get worked up about.

just because barca did it doesn't make it ok and basically i bet they looked bitter, not small but it would fucking make us look small.

i can never see why we do it actually only maybe in campbells case tbh, if berbatov goes we're getting 25m for him so why boo? its just ridiculous neanderthals that boo and i think you are completely thick individual if you cant see it from the players point of view.

Do you go to games? Genuine question?

I spent £750 to renew my season ticket this year, plus I'll fork out hundreds more as I like to go to away, go to europe, cup games etc etc. If i see a player not giving a shit about Spurs then yea, i take it personally, as to be honest thats a lot of money to fork out so i want to see players giving their all for the shirt.

You just sound like a two-bob fan if im honest.

You see, I do see football as something to get worked up about. It's my absolute passion besides my family. I love football. I live and breathe it. It's my job, my hobby and my love. It takes all sorts I suppose. The arm-chair fans aswell as the loonies. I think I'm in the middle of those two. I think you're somewhere on the arm-chair, but I may be wrong.

Thick to not see it from a players point of view? Surely players are thick if they don't expect a poor response when they treat the club and it's fans with contempt?

Don't support Spurs if you have little-man syndrome. We're not a little club, but we're not the biggest either. Booing doesn't make us look little. Booing happens in EVERY ground in EVERY country at EVERY level.

I'm sorry, see things from the player's point of view???!!! How about they pay me extortionate amounts of money before I'm called upon to sympathise with their plight.

'Oh no, I'm only getting £40,000 a week. How can I manage on £15,000 a week more than the UK average yearly salary? I really need to move to a club that will pay me more money a year, than most people see in their entire working lives'

Let's be clear on this. Football is suffering because of the very thing that is motivating Berbatov's possible move to Man U. Too much money sloshing about with no regulation, no control and no one to put a brake on the way the Premiership is spiralling into the pockets of the Big 4.

If this attitude of 'must play Champions League football' becomes more and more prevalent then all we will see is a lop-sided system where the G14 win everything and the rest make up the numbers. So spare me the innocent lamb, 'players are modern slaves' bullshit, please.

I wouldnt boo him, but he certainly wouldnt get a standing ovation from me. A great player, yes, but it is players like him that are keeping the top four out of reach from anyone else.

They see the glory and money and run, they just simply arnt prepared to be patient and help a club break into the elite. its incredibly frustrating that as soon as you get close to having a squad capable of challenging the top four, they pick off your best players, and send you back down to mid table mediocrity.

I too am of the opinion that Berabtov is a good man and he'd play well for the fans if we dug our heals in an forced him to stay another year.

I would love Wande or Levy to be asked about Berbatov and the utd transfere rumors and reply something like this:

"We, like all clubs, aspire to be as successful as Manchester Utd both on and off the pitch. We have great respect for thier team and especially thier manager, who has proven to be one of the greatest, this or any other country has ever seen. All at Tottenham Hotspur FC are therefore 100% behind SAF's strong stand against alllowing his top players to leave his club to go to thier rivals whilst, on a long contract. We will show our support by being equally strong over not allowing our top players to leave to our rivals. We urge all PL clubs to be as strong"

On the issue of price, If Levy has a figure we won't wavier from regardless of an idle take it or leave it threat.

Sorry, don't know what came over me, ignore that.

Boooooooo, etc.

No one is saying boo him instead of cheering the boys... Booing is part and parcel of sport. It's always been there and always will.

The only thing I can't comprehend is booing your own players. Never have done or never will do that.

I wouldn't boo him.
In big games he has done the business.
Lets be honest,Berba is in his prime and he wants to win more trophies.
Man U are more than likely to win 1 trophy a season, with the League being the most likely, then the FA Cup.
We have big potential, but i think he wants medals now and not in 3-4 years time when he will be in his 30's.

What I'm saying is, booing is too predictable, players seem to thrive on it. It would have a more psychological effect on a player to think that he'd been replaced in the affections of the fans who used to cheer him aswell as boost our own player. I think.

What really pisses me off is that we all sit here wondering what will happen and if he even wants to leave.

At least with the Ronalso situation he came out and publicly made his feelings very clear. Berbatov needs to take note. He knows how passionate Spurs fans are and he needs to step forward, be a man, and let us know exactly what he wants.

As for booing him if he leaves.....damn right I will, and why shouldn't I? He has shown little or no commitment to the club whatsoever. Yeah he scores the goals and plays well but he is simply turning up to his job IMO. He has obviously come to our beloved club to use it as a stepping stone to a "big" club. Somebody needs to drum it into his head that we are a big club and we WILL be playing in the CL within 2 years!

So yeah, I will boo him and, furthermore, I will hope every week that he is sitting on the bench, or playing shite, or scoring an own goal. And if he goes to Manure then Christ I hope we beat them home and away. If he goes I really want him to seriously regret his decision. I want him to wake up every morning thinking "why the fuck did I ever leave Spurs?"

That's why booing Sol is so much fun. Has he ever played a good game against Spurs since he left?

Someone said it on here already, but to truly know if you'd boo him or not you'd have to wait for his reaction upon leaving and arriving back at The Lane.

If he left and in his press conference at OT he stated he loved Spurs and it was his most difficult decision and that he hopes the fans understand, then maybe he'll charm me over. Maybe.

If he then turned up to The Lane and in the build-up reiterated his love for the club and how much he's looking forward to seeing us and how he won't celebrate if he scores then again, I might be charmed.

If he then walked out onto our hallowed turf, took off his United training top and underneath was a t-shirt saying "Arsenal are scum" then I think I wouldn't boo.

Not asking for much, am I?

Berbatov should be booed because he is leaving Spurs just as they are showing genuine ambition to break into the top 4 to go to a Club that is in the same league as us. If he left at another time where we are showing very little ambition and struggling in the league (last season was a one off), then i wouldn't have a problem with him leaving.

i will boo him yes because if he does leave he has proven himself to be a total coward. he has used his agent and family to say everything for him and has NEVER once spoken out to say they are not representative of his feelings. i didn't like the words from his mouth from the minute he arrived ie, "I could have gone to Man utd but spurs wanted me more". who mentioned man u at that press conference? he undermined his signing from that moment for me and it really has just been one long saga. the rumours of him going to manure surfaced the january after he signed and he never once distanced himself from them. i'd also be annoyed at our club for selling him to taggart. if SAF was such a good judge of a player how come he didn't pick up carrick for 14m less when he left wet spam or sign hargreaves when he was being touted about english clubs for 8m or sign berba for 11 instead of nearly 30m?? united are no better than chelsea!! they slag chelscum off for buying a league title when they have paid absolute top whack for everyone of their players apart from the remaining "kids". we will never break into the top four like this because as goonersaurus said"BIG SIDES DON'T SELL TO EACH OTHER"

I wouldn't boo him if he went there, he has given us 2 years good service but we haven't been able to match his ambition so he feels he needs to move on now. We should really consider ourselves lucky to have had him anyway, when you consider all the other teams that he was linked with before us and remember he turned down Man U to sign for us in the first place http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11667_2386074,00.html

Barcalona aren't a small bitter club. They not only booed Figo when he returned with Real Madrid, but they through mobile phones and a PIGS HEAD at him.

Booing doesn't turn you into a small bitter club.

I'd boo the life out of him. But that's because I've never loved him like some. Has he been a quality, quality player for us? Of course. Have I liked seeing him in the lillywhite? Of course. Has he ever been a Yid? Never.

it may not turn you into a small bitter club but it would seem to turn you into a bunch of fucking idiots if lobbing pigs heads at people is deemed acceptable

Dont think we'll get a chance to boo him. He'll go but I honestly believe that he wont play a particularly big role for Utd. He slows the pace of the game which is in complete contrast to Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez, and pretty much every successful side Ferguson has put together in the past 15 years. They'll spend big money on him, he wont play much, and he'll end up at Newcastle in 2 years time. Same thing will happen to Keane if he goes to Liverpool.

Football's gone crazy and I cant be arsed with it. Might start watching Northampton Saints next season. Seriously.

you speak wise words mate..he does wonders for the pace of the game..
..he kills it, holds it up..has the best first touch ive ever seen and has an abundance of audacious flicks and through balls up his sleeves..not to mention a killer finish and wuality in the air!:stupid:

haha, well i've had a season ticket for 5 years now and i just spent 925 pounds to renew mine so i think i win in the fan top trumps stakes.

i doubt berbatov wants to move for money its just to do with the ability to play at the highest level and win things, we can't offer him this, well not this year anyway. so why begrudge him his move? hes barely said anything in the papers demanding a move if any at all, hes acted with class.

Theres no need at all for us to boo him as hes done nothing wrong. I mean i'm tottenham through and through etc. but if i had the chance at 27 to go and play for the champions league winners in united i wouldn't turn it down and i know 99% of you wouldn't turn it down, you would be mad to.

I mean i find it ridiculous to boo anyone but booing berbatov would just be insane, genuinely mental but thats in my opinion
