Didn't he also say on SSN the other night that he'd complete his move to US the next day? Yeah, I think this ship has sailed.

*runs off into Lamela thread*

Don't do a medical if you can't agree terms first. I've never known of a club losing a player 2 days after a medical.

You can't agree terms with a player then do the medical after, what if the medical reveals some kind of heart condition which will mean the guy can't play? Then what?

As far as i'm aware the club would have had an idea of what he was after moneywise, thought it's within budget, got him over for medical which he passed. Probably while all this was happening Kia was trying to get Chelsea involved, once he got the green light that they was he could have just told Willian to stall. For a player that is not affiliated to Tottenham they will always choose Chelsea in the current situation. It pains me to say it as I hate that team with a passion and I believe we're building something the right way.
But he will just see 100-150k a week, and champions league football. We can probably at a push offer 6 figure wages but basically anything we can offer Chelski can offer more.

What more can we do about that? We needed CL football instead of wasting our time on the stupid Europa League.. sigh

SSN: Willian says he hasn't made his mind up yet
We really can't bank on this going anything but tits up. I mean that from a SC forum meltdown risk, and from a other targets risk.

SSN are probably just noticing the drop off in viewers now that 'Chelsea are a forgone conclusion' so are tempting us Spurs fans back in.

What are talking about? Clubs agree terms with players before medicals all the time. If you find the heart condition, the agreed terms are void as they were subject to success in the medical.

£30m for a player who has scored 30 goals in 190 games. Even Jenas was close to those ratios! I'm sure he's a great player but maybe we will now do better!

Such an overrated player anyway. Overpriced too. Glad we've avoided this mercenary...
SSN: Willian says he hasn't made his mind up yet

...err, I mean... Get this deal done, Levy! He's top class and exactly what we need. Pay him what he wants!

Hope he enjoys the bench and the odd game at Stamford Bridge. Regular football at Spurs or Liverpool would have given him a chance of making the national team in a World Cup year.

I think Willian wants us. Kia wants to keep Chelsea/Roman on side and trying to screw us. He's only in it for the cash.

I don't think he'll be benched. He'll play, as he is a Mourinho bought player.

He is taking more of a risk joining them though, definitely as there is no doubt he'll be top bollocks at Spurs.

Would be mental if our deal was still on the table in regard to Willian. Surely the moment that he said he wanted to speak to Chelsea after we had put in all the work and were moments away from signing him would mean we said fair enough, we are done here.

Willian is a class player, lets not do exactly what we ridicule others for doing in changing opinions based on if he is coming to us or not. He is the creative player we needed to unlock Stoke or Fulham at WHL when they put 10 men behind the ball. However, he isn't the only player in the world who can do that, it just depends if another club with a similar player will sell with 9ish days left. Mind you, if that £30m is still there, I'm sure we can convince someone.

Also worth pointing out for people who are saying things along the lines of, 'See Spurs, that's how you sign someone', if you have unlimited resources and CL, it's one hell of a lot easier doing a deal in 24 hours.

It's a complicated game.

Willian might actually want us (wages offered probably not much different)
Kia can probably get more money Via Chelscum.
