I am not saying he isn't a good player, I am just saying it isn't fair on Dier that he was one of our best CBs and he's been moved to DM where he's expected to do a job, when he is still learning his trade at CB. The season is long, he had some good games at RB last season but ultimately he wasn't thought good enough to continue playing there.

Well, no because he's not a natural right back hence buying a natural right back to cover Walker in the summer. He is a DMF and CB by trade not a RB.

I remember people saying that bale couldn't play LW after his first few games there. At least give him a chance.

Well if there was a need for a DMF within the price range then we would have pushed for one, we didn't therefore the management are obviously happy with our options.

But he came into the league where he only had Portuguese league experience....playing as a centre back, he proved that he can cut it in the Prem playing as a CB.Likewise he only has Portuguese league experience playing as a DMF, so why can't he cut it playing as a DMF in the prem, why is there a different set of rules for either position?

That's just it, he's proved himself in the premier league as a CB and that was his main postion at SP. I am not saying he won't be adequate but you can't just say based on handful of games he played as DM for SP that he will be good enough to play the full length of the season and do a good job in that position.

So why can't he prove himself as a DMF?, that's my point. You would have had similar reservations when he first came to Spurs coming in the the Prem as an inexperienced CB but he proved himself. Now he's had a year experience playing here and playing in a position that he's played in before, he started out as a DMF at Sporting, how many times he can cover both CB and DMF by trade.

It goes to show that we didn't actually make any official concrete bids for our suspected DMF targets as opposed to forwards, think that tells you a lot really.

Like some of you I was disappointed that we did not address our CM & ST issues But as time has gone by, I have gotten over it

The only worry I have now, is that we have to pray that we don't get any serious injuries in those two positions otherwise we are screwed , but as it stands, I am satisfied with the squad going into January

We all know the transfer window could have been better. We wanted schniederlin and an out and out striker that we didn't get. That's down to levy. Don't take it out on dier. It's unfair.

Not to mention that DMF and CB are similar positions, both require concentration, being comfortable with the ball at your feet, covering, tackling etc, way different from the set of skills requires from being a striker.

That is assuming they all fit till January, we have 2 in each positon when all available.

Until Kane/Dier get a serious injury, all is ok (imo)

I didn't want Schniederlin at 27 million so I don't blame Levy for that at all, I blame him for buying stambouli.
