Aymeric Laporte being rumoured today, no doubt a brilliant signing if we could pull it off but even with a good exchange rate his 40 mill euro buyout would cost us approx £30 mill unless Bilbao not known for being easy to deal with accept a lesser bid
Then Laporte himself saying he was happy at Bilbao whilst he is still learning and developing when United were interested suggests it would be a tough deal to do
On the other hand Bilbao are having a bad season and not many points off the relegation zone
Fingers crossed I guess but I won't be holding my breath on this one
The chairman has been reported to wanting the full amount paid.

However with the tax issue, they may accept a £34m bid and keep the money themselves rather than us paying the £31.5 buyout clause and the £6.3m tax bill

However this isn't typically money you associate with us.

That being said there is no issue with the big figure since we are apparently looking more at bringing less numbers and considering the outs we have going, this would potentially be possible whilst making a negative net spend.

The rumours are that Levy trusts Pochettino, but how much is unknown yet.

How about Embolo at Basel. I've not seen loads of him, but he seems to have the qualities to fit what we need as back up to Kane, he's big, powerful but mobile, seems to have decent technique and can hold up the ball. Only 17 so buckets of potential and wouldn't cost a kings ransom and would be prepared to sit on the bench and learn.
