When we played Nice in the WC break last season, Khephren Thuram was the stand out player imo. If PEH leaves, he could be a good option, as he'll only have 18 months left on his contract.
He’d be my top addition in midfield. Definitely need an option at centre back too.

Get that mate but I wasn't counting Sess.

Gil, Kulu, Solomon and Johnson were the four I was talking about, add in Son and Richarlison and we still have 6 players for 3 places.
Plus Veliz will slowly work his way into contention for miniutes. All depends how Gil does as to if we need to sign another WF in Jan or not but I highly doubt we will and think it’ll just be a CB. We rarely do much business in Jan.

I hope we continue to look at good youngsters.

I’d be looking at Roony Bardghji, tieing up a deal with a loan back and then joining us in the summer.

Will be 18 and will become HG to us and us a real talent and plays rw although can play across the 3 positions.

Has 4 goals in 8 games currently.

Left footed and already playing fit Sweden under 21s.

I think we will also be keeping an eye on Fati (assuming we were interested in the first place). Felix is doing really well at Barca but there is no option and if he continues to impress then they will want to buy him. For that they will still need to sell someone and i wouldn’t be surprised if that someone is Fati. If he does well then they can ask for a decent price also.

In general I’d be very surprised if we brought in a forward in Jan unless it’s a youth prospect.

Ebere Eze. Perfect signing. Premier League proven, good personality fit. Can play left wing or the 10 in replace of Maddison.

CAA Base. June 2025 contract expiry. Unlikely Palace let him go in January but bet we can get it done next summer for a similar amount as Maddison

I’d like us to go after 2-3 players for the here and now, but I would also like to see some more background deals for developing depth.

1. A tall athletic CB who can play either right or left. Adarabioyo, maybe even Chalobah, I thought that was a decent link. Stick with 3 senior CB’s and potentially place faith in Phillips/Dorrington as 4th choice.

2. A CM capable of playing either 6/8 or 8/10, depending on whether we see Bentancur or Sarr as suited to DM (Bissouma level technical/athletic combo) or more advanced. If Gallagher was an Ange pick, go back in for him, but if not, maybe look at Douglas Luiz, see if we can’t work a Lo Celso trade. I’m concerned that nobody else has the Bissouma blend of technical skill and athleticism/agility to dominate CM the way he has so far. Maybe Bentancur or Sarr could, but are they more effective further forward? That’s where I’m torn between someone like Luiz who could be the 6, or Gallagher to free up Bentancur/Sarr to cover 6 without losing the thrust at 8. Eze would be great, but think he would be out of our reach.

3. Maybe a LW following Perisic’s injury, and if Gil isn’t deemed suitable. A shot at Gnonto seems like something to look at, young, dynamic, becomes HG in 2025, but classed as U21 till then anyway.

Beyond that, I’d be looking for more outgoings, trim the squad down a bit, place faith in some of these U21’s to make bench appearances, get them minutes if the situation allows to aid their development.

Looking at summer additions, Redondo and Marcos Leonardo would be my picks for future transfers based on their respective qualities for Ange’s system, but I’m not sure whether we’re actually already stocked in those areas. Maybe look for some more HG options 18/19 years old, as we did with Phillips, Devine, Soonsup-Bell etc.

Another option for LW should be Pedro Neto. He has been fantastic so far this season, already joint top for assists and joint second for chances created. Considering how toothless Wolves are at the moment he has been a stand out. Should certainly be on our list of options IF Gil doesn’t take the spot for himself (which I hope he does).

On the subject of LW's, as fans we always have a fear that we will sell a player that will go on top be top class and we'll regret it. It was most prominent in the likes of Taarabt, GDS, Caulker and Marcus Edwards. But it's never actually happened before. However, that could be about to change and from an unlikely source, at least in terms of how he was generally viewed on this forum. Jack Clarke is tearing up the Championship. I think alot of people are going to be very shocked the next time they see him play. He's like a left sided Deki, but a bit quicker.

Jonas Wind looks to have kicked off the start of the season well for Wolfsburg. Big, athletic forward who we should be keeping an eye on.

In: Kelly + Gallagher

Out: Dier, Sess, Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, Lloris

Think that leaves us with a more manageable sized squad and net spend should be minimal and wages probably decreased a lot.

Whether Chelsea are still willing to do a deal for Gallagher is another question.
Apart from Chelsea’s mad spree last year (and look how that is working out) find me any club that has done deals for 7 players in January. It’s just not realistic - we couldn’t sell 5 players over a whole summer but you think we can do it in January??

If we get a CB in and find a home for Lloris that’s ok. Anything on top is a bonus

I realise you aren’t saying he’s as good, but I find this kind of comparison really misleading. Clarke is not ‘like a left sided Deki but quicker’ which implies he is better. I’ve never seen anything to suggest he is anywhere near Deki technically. If he was he wouldn’t have been shunted off to Sunderland

It was more of a wishlist than an expectation, mate

Although looking at our January 2022 transfer window we did 6 transfers in about 10 days. 👍

Tottenham Hotspur
  • IN: Rodrigo Betancur (Juventus, $21 million), Dejan Kulusevski (18-month loan with buy option)
  • OUT: Tanguy Ndombele (Lyon, loan with buy option), Bryan Gil (Valencia, loan), Giovani Lo Celso (Villareal, loan with buy option), Dele Alli (Everton)

One of the Twitter "ITKs" suggested we're in the pack who're after Nusa....

Looks perfect for Ange's style of football.

A lot of eye's on him, supposedly he turned down Chelsea over summer. Looks a talent but still raw. Would be a nice pick if we can snag him tho but wouldn't be surprised if we loaned him back IF we got him.

Definitely hope we can determine if Gil is a fit or not by January. Rewatching the match against Sheffield United, Perisic’ importance can’t really be understated. Quality delivery, obviously got the assist on the corner and then played the nice little quick touch/pass that put Richy in position to assist Kulu. Also offered up some good defensive actions. Hard to replace that kind of veteran savvy.

After that, my hope is just we help our Summer window by bringing in the right type of player(s) and not just guys that are available.
