Rodon has been exceptional for Leeds.
Yep, Leeds fans are very happy with him.

I don't think he's the permanent solution, personally. I'd expect Leeds to try and sign him, especially if they come back up. If we could agree this in principal, we could possibly risk reinvesting the money early on Todibo or a loan-to-buy for Kimpembe.

“Meanwhile, Spurs have joined the queue of top clubs considering a move for Blackburn whizkid Adam Wharton.”

Would Iling-Junior come in to play a utility role?

Haven’t seen a lot of him but from the videos he could be a decent left back option.
He's hardly getting any game time at Juve, he's had just 113 minutes across 4 games. So yes he most certainly would. I'm all for getting him if we are looking to convert him into a FB, I'm not so wild on the idea of getting him to play LW. There are much better talents out there in LW.

Agree with this. We’d have to be sure he is comfortable playing in the narrower areas like our fullbacks do though.

He’s played CM before. I wouldn’t buy him to be a CM but he could comfortably perform the attacking requirements of the role, he is solid defensively as well but obviously actually playing as a FB with the responsibilities that entails is a different kettle of fish to being “solid defensively”

The pertinent point will be changes to his release clause.

Does suggest somewhat that this boat has sailed for us if we were ever truly in for him.
“In his previous contract, there was a €50m release clause, and it is believed that the clause will remain around the same level to allow Williams to exit should he desire down the line, with many big clubs likely willing to activate it”

Not sure how accurate and could just be conjecture but would make a lot of sense. It was the same when there were reports about a renewal last summer.

Yeah unfortunately recalling him isn't an option as it seems likely if he stays there we'll get £15m or so for him if Leeds go up. I can't see Leeds paying up now with promotion still in the balance, and Levy will probably want to wait as well. I'm just delighted he's doing well as I thought he'd be a player we'd end up getting peanuts for. I think there is a lesson to be learned here with Oliver Skipp as well. Our aim should be to find a loan for him then if he does well hopefully said club will be prepared to pay £15-20m to pick him up permanently.

He just needs to work on his decision making inside the box and refine his finishing but under Ange i'd have no doubt he would become one of the best wingers in the world in a few years..
The biggest problem our current Frontline has is finishing. We don't need another player who is great at getting in good positions but crap at kicking the ball into the goal!

I mean he scored 14 goals last season in all comps and he’s only 22. I certainly wouldn’t say he was bad, he just needs refining, at lot of that comes down to picking his moments better. It’s pretty much par for the course with most young players. Anyway he’s beyond our reach so it’s a moot point but he’d instantly improve our front line significantly.

Exactly. But this is the kind of signing we need to make to really elevate us at the next stage. If we have champions league in the summer and have moved on the players we need to, our squad depth is looking better at cb, gk, Lb (sess dependent), 1 more 6 (personally I’d convert sarr), then I think he is the exactly level of player we have to buy. Peri out, Richie out, Kavra in and then a striker and we are looking very strong.

Vic, (new gk)
Porro (Emerson) Romero (Philips) vdv (new Cb) Udogie (sess?)
Biss (sarr)
Benta (Gio) Madds (kulu) (youth)
Johnson (kulu). Son (new striker) kavra (solomun)

that’s a very good squad. Very very strong 1st 11.

At some point in your build out you have to go for the top talents/players. Otherwise you’ll never make the next level.

Richie, hojberg, skipp, dier, Lloris, Davies (could keep), peri, forster, all out frees up massive wages and hopefully some money in for the first 3. Hopefully Rodon, tanganga we get the money for too. Say 80m in from those transfers.

4 signings isn’t a huge amount, may need 5 if we want a 4th cb but Davies out and Kelly in who can play Lb and lcb would make sense, especially on a free. Kavra for 70m, cb for 40m, Kelly free, striker I think we need to go big on too, say another 70m, gk (young English), 15m? 195m spend, net of 115m over 2 windows isn’t even big.

Philogene-Bidace (Hull) could be a very interesting (HG) wing forward option. Good feet and comfortable both sides of the 9.

Bro also plays in the academy too.
