Well listed above are two good midfielders who have contracts running out. That should get Levy tingling at least.

Not sure why we are discussing a winter transfer thread after the summer one where not a single person was purchased, surely January is only going to bring about more of the same with zero purchases coming out on top again.

Coz it's fun to speculate sometimes.

Because Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Dembele and Llorente will be down to their last 6 months come January.

I can imagine we'll try to keep hold of Verts.

Nkoudou we may attempt to loan out again. Can't see Mousa leaving on a free in the summer.

We'll be doing something.

Especially if the stadium is ready.

Verts agree with but the rest maybe bombed out to save on wages it's not a great time to buy as most clubs want to keep their player's until the summer.

It's really not that deep, it really isn't

It's just a thread on potential incommings and who people would like to see us sign, that's all.
Fair enough I did think it was strange us discussing in comings in January but now I see it for what it is thanks for the heads up.

Vertonghen confirmed that the club have an option to extend in his existing contract. In effect he has 19 months left on his contract.

Still hoping Toby extends his deal.

He'll come in with such low-ball offers that they'll end up signing contract extensions with their present clubs. We've seen that happen too often already
Think your current club doesn't value you enough? Just wait til you meet Daniel Levy!

The only reason I wouldn’t still be discussing transfers is because I’ve run out of ways of saying ‘we need new players in CM’

Otherwise it’s fun

Wouldn't mind us picking up current Porto captain Hector Herrera in January, as he'll have six months remaining on his contract then. Can play as a CM/DM, aggressive player with a great passing range. Some sites claim we've sent scouts to watch him play for Porto.

He's a player that a PL club should have had a punt on years ago.

The acquisition of personnel occupying the equidistant of the pitch is imperative to the development of the Tottenhams of Hotspur- how’s that?

Links to Rabiot today. Can talk to non-french clubs in January. PSG. Opportunity.

Has Levy written all over it.

I think he'd be a good signing. Tenacious, competent.

His mother/agent is the problem. She's a nut case. Only reason he hasn't signed a new contract at PSG is because they are demanding a mega contract. He gets a lot of game time there so it's not about minutes. I will be shocked if he comes here.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Would love it although he feels like one of those players that we'll be perennially linked with but we'll never sign.

This man, in the long run Sanchez and deLigt would provide our defence with stability for many seasons.

Can only assume now his price tag and attraction to other clubs has increased.

His highlights below from last night vs Bayern Munich speak for themselves
