Today was a missed opportunity. I was hoping to see the kids play. Dorrington, Phillips and Donley all know the system and they are unbeaten and top PL2. It's no point blaming Dier and Davies. We know they don't work in Ange's system. Ange should also know this. He needs to be brave.

Better to die on your feet than on Your knees. Audere est facere.
Seeing Ange playing so high up with 9 men, I think he could have given them the starts, but he probably also thought of giving the older players some redemption time. They fucking let him down and I hope Ange can be ruthless next game. We are definitely not winning against Villa with that backline, might as well play the U21s.

Dunno why some of u are okay saying “it’s a process”, this was literally our only chance to win the league with no European football, we will never win it now
Your short term optimism is admirable but your long term prognostication could use a bit of reality.

There was always going to be bumps in the road. We’re right at the beginning of a journey and the squad is paper thin. As frustrating as it is people need to keep some perspective.

You are over-optimistic if you expected us to win the league.
We had just lost Kane.
We are over-performing already. All the new recruits have done well.
We lost Madders today and no one can do his role in this team at PL level. Ange was unlikely to solve that in a week.
Maybe, but then just so fed up of getting top four cos it changes nothing, levy will spent less if anything , I want to win something, need to!

i have a 6 year old and he gets teased at school for supporting spurs because we never win the league or anthing meaningful and I thought this could be the year,

two kids in my road had spurs shirts on 2 years ago, they now have city shirts on, I will never let that happen to my son, although it’s getting harder to keep him motivated on spurs ya know . El well

I knew we were fucked when Jim Beglin on my feed in about the 88th was saying about how well we defended and Drury said would be back on top of the league ahead of City who play tomorrow.

Jinx applied.
he literally didnt finish the sentence as the goal went in!!

The CM3 that started today was more befitting of Mourinho than Postecoglu. If Gio isn’t doing enough to earn a spot in the team then Kulusevski has to drop into the No. 8 position and Gil needs to come in on the wing. We cannot play another match so utterly bereft of creativity.
Agree. That midfield was my biggest issue. The defensive line was always going to be suspect but playing such a negative midfield in front of a weak back line is going to result in the ball spending a lot of time in areas we don’t want it to be. We were never going to be able to control the game even if we had more possession. Maybe if we had VDV and Romero we would have gotten away with it as they are both confident on the ball. Really disappointing from Ange tbh.

I think people are being a bit harsh on Hojbjerg. Wolves beat City and have taken points against other big teams. They are good on the ball, and we had 4 days to come up with a completely new solution to overcome 4 key absences. It’s hard for a player to perform when the team around him are struggling too.
Hojbjerg isn't as big of an issue any more now anyway now Bentancur is back. We need to make sure we have someone lined up in the first week of January, though.

Best team won today, easier for me to take than how the Chelsea match panned out as that is where our season fell apart…

I think with no Euro football we all dreamed that we could do a Leicester, Leicester that season like us had a decent 11 but from memory went throughout without any major injuries to important players, everything aligned, the wheels have came off for us now the 11 is broke, there will be no Leicester season, the squad as we all know is nowhere near good enough. There will be more days like today so no point getting too upset…

Chelsea have cost us 6 points this week. Probably more to come. Udogie and Bentancur will both be in against Villa. But we’re quite battered right now.

That will not help. we will still be without VDV and Romero, Dier was fault in both goals today. just ballwatching as a central defender is just so bad. Bentancur was off as well, you can clearly see he is missing gametime, to slow on the ball, but that will come

But think we need to brace for a couple of months with bad football now. Ange will find out after the Villa and City game. can not see us geting anything in those games.

Just look how far we fell of on the creative side when missing Madders, and how slow the passing was from behind with Dier Davies and Hoibjerg.

I have to say we need to be scoring goals to make up for this defence. 2 shots on target is terrible. We can complain about the defence but that's largely our best attack , we missed Maddison too much. We have to learn to play without him big time now.

Well if we don't get top 4 Ange will have a transfer budget of zilch

Love reading some of the comments when we lose. Proper knee jerk shit.

We lost that game in the midfield and didnt create enough chances. Wolves were more aggressive. They deserved the win. Forget about blaming the ref (wasn't that bad considering some of the others we've had this season), or the B team centre backs who actually had a decent game.

Forget it and move on to the next one.

Delusional to think they’re ain’t a problem moving forward, with some of the players who started today.

We've been told over and over that Ange is uncompromising in how he wants to play. We can't now start moaning because he is uncompromising in how he wants to play.

We never had control of the game and that is somewhat expected given that so many players playing today didn't have many minutes in their legs.

We almost ground out a very good 1-0 win but we got rattled at the end to gift a sloppy winner. Wolves first goal was a really good finish tbf.

My first reaction is well played Wolves. Results like this were always going to happen this season.

We'll be fine.

So what you're saying is that we were dominated by a significantly inferior team? I'm actually more frightened of that than I am by our reserves making errors under pressure.

We weren't dominated. They just fought for it more and made more chances due to our high line. Those particular defenders aren't suited to the high line, that's a club issue for not replacing them, but they did a decent job considering. Square pegs, round holes.
