Liverpool fans don't know whether to laugh or cry and I love it. England doing well is good and all but playing the victim just feels too amazing to let go.

On RAWK Kane is captain in name only, Henderson is actually doing the job and leading England forward.... even though his default is always to pass sideways or back  I think Henderson had a fairly good game but don’t understand why he doesn’t try and move the ball forward more often. He has a fairly good pass. Unless that is what he’s been asked to do by Southgate.

That’s the point some of us were making, England found themselves 5-0 up without even having to play well, which they didn’t particularly.

I think this team is bright eyed and bushy tailed, but there are still massive issues with it. There’s virtually no midfield to speak of, even RLC didn’t improve that much, Even in that first half, England weren’t exerting the kind of control you’d expect against such a poor team, their play kind of by-passed midfield a lot.

There’s no one in midfield, especially without Alli, to play incisive passes, and it falls to people like Trippier and occasionally Henderson. Even in that 5-0 first half, I can’t remember a single through ball other than Trippier’s to Lingard for the pen. And this was highlighted again second half, when England failed on several occasions to cut them open on the break because there was no midfielder capable of playing an incisive pass.

I think Kane has pretty much continued his end of season form, he’s scoring goals but not playing well, got caught on the ball a couple of times and wasted a great chance to play Sterling through.

I still have no idea what RLC is? Is he a 6? An 8? He’s strong and has good technique but he doesn’t do anything quickly and he holds onto the ball too long at times and tried to dribble to often.

Playing Trippier instead of Walker as the rwb is Southgate’s smartest tactical decision. Young’s contributed fuck all in two very easy games.

Southgate recognises some of those issues

BBC Sport: World Cup 2018: Gareth Southgate 'didn't particularly like' England performance against Panama.

It's good we can be critical and it wasn't an all star performance the result suguests but in context of how other teams are performing at the moment in this toury only a handful of teams are better than England, defiantly things to work on but lots of positives signs.

Trippier was a very brave choice, the type last England managers wouldn’t have made, and it is paying off.

As for the overall side, in possession it’s essentially like watching Spurs without Eriksen.

Henderson isn't good enough to play for England. He's the new James Milner. Bang average to poor and the team will suffer for his inclusion at some point when the opposition gets better. He loses the ball or makes very very poor passes far too often. Ashley Young is another who's time is almost up, thankfully. I've never had any time for him, he's a cheat and a scowling ****.

This team could go all the way if they collectively hit form but the likeliest outcome is that we'll have a very poor game exactly when it matters most, we've been here before with England, they get your hopes up and boom.

All IMO of course.

I'm a bit worried about the three back line going up against Belgium. Rose didn't have the best games today and the only option is unfortunately Young/Delph. Henderson going forward creates a lot of space behind and we don't get that problem if we play Dier, which I hope imo starts against Belgium.

To be fair, the way the Egyptian FA, Egyptian government and the political leaders in Chechnya have abused his image for their own benefit in the last few days is detestable.

You can't say anything supportive about Salah on here. ;)

Well yes. What’s happening to him is fucked up and this type of politicizing and shmoozing doesnt have a place in football.

But why let facts get in the way of salah being a quitter?;)
