Willian was poor in the first two games and when Costa came on against Costa Rica, Brazil looked a lot better. Despite that Tite is still choosing Willian in this game. What is that about?

Costa Rica absolutely dominating v Switzerland. Hit the bar and two or three other huge chances.

Switzerland through isn't a foregone conclusion.

Haha this third round is becoming the Revenge of the Eliminated

Another superb low save by the Swiss keeper. Not the first he's had to make. He's keeping them alive.

Because he's an total fucking idiot like a lot of the big team managers at the world cup. He announced his team in February or something, which means that he didn't care what evidence he saw between then and the start of the world cup, he was just going to pick the players he'd decided on half a year early. Before he even sees any of the players in training for the weeks prior to the start of the tournament. So expecting him to use his eyes and perhaps align his opinions of players with actual evidence is probably too high a bar.

So he’s a bit of Tite then. :shifty:

You'd think they'd learned after Scolari between 2010 and 2014 basically treated Brazil as a club side with a set first XI...

Best thing that could happen to Brazil is that Jesus gets injured. Firmino has looked way better than him. I hope he's fine.

Joel Campbell (yes, the forgotten Arsenal man) was booked after a Swiss defender literally ran into his arm. Seemed very unjust.

And now Switz lead. Against the run of play but that was vital.
