Am I the only one that finds Ticka Tacka football really boring to watch ;evidence the Mexican wave a sure sign that whats going on in the match is very dull
With Guardiola the main man in this type of play it is possible that other teams will adopt this type of play in the premier league as they take a lead from Man City success ;forgetting that city can buy the worlds best players and will get success whatever style they play
If Ticka Tacks became endemic in the premier I would seriously have to consider whether I wanted to pay £1000 for a season ticket to watch this sterile bore fest and I have been a season ticket holder for over 50 years
The only times I have had second thoughts on season ticket renewal was the final year under Graham and after two months under Vilas Boas
Tiki taka for the sake of possession with precious little penetration like Spain are playing right now (and have done since 2010 really) isn't a great watch.

City play nothing like that. Sane, Sterling, Jesus, even De Bruyne are far from tiki taka players. They get forward.

Pity both sides can't go out in this round.

Wonder if we'll get a late dodgy winner from Russia.

I find Spain painful to watch.
They are brilliant technicians but they need to go forward and take more risks

Why do you blame Spain when their opponent is doing nothing to try and play with the ball and concentrating on a deep block?

I’m no more angry with Russia for their unwillingness to come out and fight than I am with Spain for not being able to dance through a sideways bus.

Spain play like this against any opponent and at any scoreline. It's nothing to do with Russia being more defensive

It’s not just this match.
I find Spain’s style quite boring to watch

Yes, but you only think it’s frustrating because almost every opponent they face deals with it the same way, by digging in and forcing Spain to shuffle from side to side.

If Russia just came out and tried to play, suddenly vertical spaces would open up and the dynamics would change massively, but Spain would be stupid to just change their tactics and start taking loads of risks because that plays into the opponents strategy - as we saw in the Germany Mexico game (or Germany in general this tournament).

If Koke plays any deeper he'll be the ballboy behind Spain's goal.

Spain are not even trying to pull the opposition out of position with their possession football. There’s almost no movement. Awful watch. Hope the Russians find another goal.

I've just got back in and was about to ask what the game was like, but I guess these two posts have summed it up?

In 2008 we'd be praising Spain for their enthralling possession football. Now I want to bang my head against the wall.
