Goals per match now below 1990 and 2010 World Cup levels.

Fucking Peru. Needed them to score to keep my three draw treble alive. And teach that buffoon Deschamps a lesson.

Onwards and upwards for France!

I don't like the way that they are set up though. Was Mbappe playing on the right wing for most of the game? Anyway. France look ok despite the lazy approach this far.

All this talent at his disposal and somehow Deschamps still manages to fuck it up. A baffling 23 man squad selection as well as two poorly selected XIs. They've scraped two results despite being painful to watch.

Pavard does not look comfortable out of position at RB (have France not got a fucking RB?!), and what is the need for Kante and Matuidi against Peru? Surely just play one of the two at the base, with Fekir alongside Pogba against a lesser team? Where the fuck is Payet? Why hasn't Thauvin been used too? They're exactly what France need against these sorts of sides.

Very poor from Deschamps, but I think they might fare better against teams that will come at them in the knockouts where two holding players and direct wingers might be more appropriate.

I love the kid who can't believe he's standing next to Messi.

Is it just me or does Messi look like his national anthem is giving him a headache?
