Serbia are tough, if inconsistent team, Ireland will do well to win this one. Considering Irish woes I'd take a draw, Irelands best hope is being consistent and try and sneak in through the playoffs.

Netherlands opening up the qualifying campaign with a pretty spectacular loss. But this is a strong dutch team (going by recent years) and they are in a piss easy group. They can't fuck it up again, can they? Frank De Boer was an odd appointment to say the least. And Norway have some decent players and are a bit of an unknown quantity. Who knows, they could even miss out on a play off.

Yes clear favourites, Portugal, while they fluked a win last time, are also becoming pretty tasty. Maybe lacking a world-class central midfielder and a little defensive depth. But, let's say that Bruno Fernandes is on the bench, and that's a justifiable decision. Probably second-favourites in my book. Belgium then finishes off the top three for me. England are in the chasing group with Germany and Spain for me, while Italy and the Netherlands are behind that as outsiders, but improving sides.

I’m watching Bale, Rodon, Toby, but mainly Super Jan ! Feel a bit sad watching him and remembering the lonely trudge round the pitch when he got subbed in that game. He looks a bit leaner, and if he’s playing for Belgium still think he could do a job for us in a 3 at the back. One of my favourites for us in recent years. The Dortmund game he was absolutely outstanding.
