..... Ok ok, I have prepared myself for a wave of abuse here but if what the Sun (I know, I know load of BALLS) is true, Man City are goign to offer him a pay per play contract on the grounds he gets himself back into condition. He's 31 so not exactly past it and in his day this guy was what a striker should be quick, powerful and hit the back of the onion bag.

What would we have to lose? No massive transfer fee, no long contract, simply he gets paid if he plays. He probably wouldnt be fit until November/December but what a boost he would be!! Even when he wasn't on top form he scored.

Ok I was on lunch reading the Sun and thought it was worth a shot, let the laughing commence........

Well at the very least we'd be able to finally re-use Mido and Andy Reid's old training kits.

He has worse knees than ledders. But a pay as you play deal is a no risker and I doubt the player will agree to it.

I love this guy, he's been my favourite player since I was 12 & I would welcome him at the Lane if he could prove his fitness. People wrote him off ages ago but he still scored 9 goals in 16 games for Milan.

:) One of my fave players to Kendall, just a goal machine, give him the ball in or around the area and he will hit the target, and no worries if he could handle the aggression of the EPL, defenders would be terrified.

Id say he wouldnt go for a pay per play either but he has been a free agent all summer and as far as I can see there is not many suiters, I am sure deep down he is a Spurs fan!

Shit I would get him in anyway, put him on the bench and get him to be a player coach. Lol. 80k a week for a coach

If it pay-per-play then we or city would have nothing to lose and a fit Ronaldo, despite his age would be deadly in-front of goal.

I'd never rule Ronaldo out of finding his form again, but anyone who thinks that he'd sign a 'pay as you play' deal with us (or anyone else) is barking. And I think he's too much of a risk to sign on any other terms. Therefore, can't see this being a go-er, even if the club were interested.

I wouldnt want us to buy him because he will never be a regular. Not even near it.

You cant plan to have in the team, or get the team set up to get the best out of him. If he only plays a handful of games he is taking up space that could be better used for a youngster (or someone like Gio) and would cost a lot.

Similar to others i think he is simply a goal machine, gutted he never came to the premership in his prime. oh well to be a surs fan is to dream!!!

I think he was the best Cf the world has ever seen but even I doubt anyone will ever get a decent return out of him these days. over wieght, mentally shattered, fucked up knees and loves girls and booze more than anything else these days.

The way he looked towards the end of last season, if I had the authority at Spurs, he'll have to pay the club for the privelege to play for our Ressies.
