Would a Leicester win, a City win or a draw benefit us more?

Beggers can't be choosers but.... I fully expect

Leicester V City finishes in a nil-nil, boring draw - both teams end up with 10 men on the pitch.

Afobe scores the winner V Arsenal

Chelsea and Man United in another boring nil-nil draw

We beat Watford by a couple of goals and rest Kane and Alli for the last half hour

-----------------------
Next week.

We beat Man City by two goals - one is a penalty (Kompany gets a straight red card). Kane and Alli get another half hours rest

Arsenal beat Leicester in one of the most boring games of the season

Spurs - top of the table

A Draw is best because we play them next week - I don't want them to go into the game with a lot of confidence from a win, and I don't want to play them after a loss. So a draw

I don't really understand that. What is better than a David vs Goliath story in today's world of footie? Teams with a net transfer spending of several 100 millions are beaten by a relatively newly promoted team. I welcome Leicester's success. It's a beacon of hope. Heck, you know what, I hope they win the league if Spurs don't.
You're a far better person than me. I might even agree with your sentiment if we weren't in the mix ( I probably wouldn't) but it really would irk me if they won the league before us.
Fuck david, fuck Goliath, fuck leicester. I'm supporting the middle ground, hardworking dude who has built astutely over the years. He needs his time in the sun.

Draw then City win then Leicester win.

Leicester are more than capable of winning the league and we need somebody to get some bloody points off them. Man City look more like wobbling than Leicester do as well at the moment.

Thing is, we were never going to win the league this season. In August most tipped us for 5th at the very best. After the first few matches, Pochettino was closer to getting fired than to top 4. The fact that we now are in the mix for top 3 is remarkable (and partly due to a few big clubs failing), and if it stands, worthy of a real celebration.Who cares what any other clubs does or doesn't.

As others have said a draw in this game and loss or draw to the arse could see us top with 2 wins in the next 2!

I don't want Leicester to win, but only because currently we are in competition with them and them losing gives us a better chance of catching them

If we can't win the league though - I'd be delighted to see Leicester win it instead of Arsenal or Man City

I don't see how any football fan would feel anything but respect for them if they some how manage it from where they came from. It would be an amazing story, sure I'd rather it be us, but if they can do it, fair play to them

But isn't it the same for man city?!

Yes, but Leicester are further ahead

I also don't want Man City to win. I've said before I want a draw or City win.

If we win we either gain 2 points on both or 3 on Leicester and keep pace with City. I'm relatively happy with either result, I just don't want a Leicester win as I think it will make them very hard to catch

I'd want City to beat Leicester then lose to us next week.
Arsenal to lose/draw against Bournemouth and then draw against Leicester next week.
If we beat Watford and City, we'll be top next week with Leicester having same number
of losses (3) as us.

a draw would be the best by far. Failing that a city win. Either would give us a shot at being top on Valentine's Day! I'm waiting for Leicester to drop off but it doesn't seem to be happening, so I don't want to see them win.

Polls were made for this kind of thread...

It's still too early in the season to start cherry-picking desired results based on how one imagines the other teams will continue to perform - those predictions tend to stem more from reputation than current evidence. That starts to be important with there are 2-3 matches left, not in early February.

At the moment, it's just the straight arithmetic: we are trying to catch two teams; a draw gives them 2 points and a win either way gives them 3 points, so we benefit more from a draw.

Draw, obviously. Two teams in our immediate vicinity drop points.

Whatever happens though we should just focus on beating Watford today. And then City. And then Fiorentina...

If we could guarantee ourselves a win against Watford I'd say City win; but 'in the dark' I'd have to say draw.
