Would it be THAT bad if we lose on Sunday......

So obviously 3 points on Sunday would be great and a draw pretty good from our own persepective.

Any of you got an eye on events further up ? Sure you have. I would (Keegan-style) LOVE it if the scum failed to qualify for CL. I remember looking forward to this fixture in January and hoping that we'd be safe by now.

Given that winning 3 of our remaining 5 home games will more than likely be enough to stay up (remember our goal diff is 10 better than those below) is anybody not going to be too bothered if we play well and lose 2-1 to Villa - especially if the scum don't secure max points at home to Blacburn.........

Maybe I'm playing devil's advocate but would be interested to know

as has been said by a lot of people on here in last few weeks i couldnt give a f**k what scum do or dont do its all about us and with us playing 5 of the top 6 in our last 10 games we need all the points we can get regardless of who we're playing so its all about us and not those paedo luvin frenchies down the road!

We have a more settled side now and a win against Villa will be a massive boost to our confidence and set us up for a good run in, as for CL, arsenal still won't qualify anyway so don't worry.
We are now only two points off Fulham and three off Wigan & Man city pull them back and we make 8th, two games could feasibly do that and then maybe, just maybe West Ham will be within our sights but can only be caught if we take points off of the top four sides as well.

I'm always bothered when we lose a game. I'd like at least a draw on Sunday, thats for sure. I think it should be a great game too.

I do feel that we have a little bit of breathing space now though, after the last few games. Its still very tight down the bottom, but 5 points clear of the bottom 3 isn't too bad. I'd like to see us continue the form we're in though, and get survival sooner rather than later. The sooner we can hit the 40 point mark, the sooner the tension will be lifted and we can start playing with a bit more freedom. Then we can cue the introduction of Bale, Giovani, Taarabt and co in the final month of the season.

Yes it bloody would! I'll be there Sunday, singing my heart out in the away end and in the home end will be my other half cheering on Villa. Then there's the train back to London. Then there's the next 6 months before we play them again. It's bad enough they beat us at home but to do the double over us would make my life a misery!

And we need the points.

we've already taken 4 pts off the scum this year and so far none off of villa, it's their job to win their games and if they blow it against the likes of Stoke it's their fault. we desperately need the 3 pts and i'd be chuffed if we got them!

I want us to win every game, especially because Blackburn won last night to tighten things up at the bottom.

There are enough games left for Villa to take fourth spot from the gooners, let them win every other game they play and Ar5ena1 drop points, but we need to win on Sunday.

firstly there is never a good time for us to lose... and Secondly we are still in the shit, and need points fast so yes it would be devastating to lose to Villa while they are in a bad spell and we are playing relatively well

If Villa are good enough, or Arsenal poor enough, they could still get fourth even if we beat them at the weekend. Does anyone else remember when we had United on the final day of the season and if we beat them Arsenal would have gone on to win the title?

Yep. And I still wanted us to win, just hoping Arsenal would lose aswell. As it turned out United beat us as usual :)

I also remember those Gooners cheering on Spurs...

We need points. A draw would be ok, but we've got to win some games and get up into the top half and safe. Villa aren't in the best form recently, so let's 'ave 'em!

A loss would be bad even though it's half-expected. We failed to beat Sunderland so can't be expected to beat Villa.

It does show how far we have fallen and how fans have scaled back their expectations.

Villa will finish 4th if they deserve to. We need to keep pushing for points to get clear of blackburn, newcastle etc.

It would be devastating if we lost. Its very tight down there, and with Chelsea in the next game I think 3 points is vital. Fuck the scum, they will probably get 4th place anyway.

I think there are more important games to come than this one. I'll be disappointed if we lose, but at least I can console myself that it's another nail in Arsenal's season coffin. Shame they won on pens last night too.

I've had gooner mates with the front to say that they'll be cheering on Spurs on Sunday! Can you believe that!

The fate of the Gooners is of no concern to me. We must not take our foot of the gas. Avoiding defeat is very important for our own reasons. The Villa game was not one that I had earmarked as a must win. So defeat would not be the complete disaster it once could have been. Never the less we must go all out and avoiding a loss would be a big boost for us. Forget Arsenal, leave them to their own fate.(non CL. qualification hopefully)
