Assuming that Jermaine Defoe's transfer is declared illegal and we can resign him without breaking Prem rules.

Who would your choice be, if we could only sign one player to go with Pav & Bent?

If other; state which realistic target (Not Villa, Huntelaar etc)

and if Goat; explain which breed and why. (Sorry mispelt in the poll, I'll go and do my lines now)

Campbell as Defoe would want to play and im quite happy with Bent and Pav as first choices while bringing Campbell through over next 1-2 seasons.

I don't understand the question.

I think it's clear that we need to build the team around Modric playing in a free role, so we'll mostly only play with one striker, and Bent is one of the best strikers we could possibly hope for to play that role. Playing this team would only mean needing three out and out strikers in the squad, and as Campbell isn't an out and out striker at all, so I'd like us to get a youngster in who's a goalscorer rather than a second striker like Campbell. We don't need any big signings in the striker department.

I'd still like us to sign Arshavin though, so that we'd have another option for the left wing, and have someone to play in Modric's position when Modric isn't on the pitch.

Michael Owen - great channel runner and happy to play up front on his own.

Defoe is yesterday.

Wouldn't mind Campbell coming in permanently. We definitely don't need another senior out-and-out striker though.

Tough one, I suppose it depends what our formation is going to be. If its two up top then someone like Zaki (or Defoe again) as the 2nd striker might be good.

If we go with 4-5-1 then I don't see the need to get in a big name striker as they won't play enough anyway.

Owen is too inury prone, and Heskey isn't sexy enough.

Arshavin I'm sure would be most people's first choice, although how well he would fit into the current set up im not sure.

I would like a strong player who could hold the ball up to link play for the rest of our team, maybe Pav can prove to be this player however.

Defoe I don't see as offering anything that Bent does not currently already offer. He is a good player and a good goalscorer in his own right, I just personally feel his career became stunted and he has not developed into the player I thought he would become.

Truth be told I would probably rather take a gamble on Campbell then go back with the already tried Defoe.

Heskey could be a good shout, he is the type of player who makes other players look good (I would much rather a Kanoute or Berbatov but you did say realistic target)

Amir Zaki I have not seen enough of but he has recieved rave reviews, Owen is one player that would be worth a gamble (depending on wages and fitness)

I would have liked us to sign Mauro Zarate, I thought he looked great at Birmingham last year and his been doing very well with Lazio.

All that being said, I wouldn't be displeased to see us resign Defoe. Although I don't think he is our best option, he is a proven goal scorer and I should imagion Redknapp knows what he is about and wheter he thinks he could do a job for us in our current set up.

I'll have wholemeal brown bread please in Jan..
Love a bit of abstract randomisation.

Crikey AM, how are you going to get all those splinters out of your backside. I ask for one signing and you do more fence sitting than a Tory policy advisor.

:bowdown:Amir Zaki is a great shout, I would personally like to have that on the back of a Spurs shirt as that is my name too. Cruz is not a bad call either, although I am suprised no-one has mentioned the seasonal Santa Cruz (or is he nailed on Citeh bound). Owen does not appeal as much as Ashton, given the Spammers finances, what about Fred Sears as the young apprentice.

Not enough goat and goats cheese appreciation going on despite the votes. If you are gonna vote for the Billy, explain to us the silly.

Llorente from Bilbao and we'd still have room for Shava in our midfield or as a support striker.
I wouldn't want Defoe back and if we did have to get any of the ageing injury prone England strikers I'd prefer Heskey as he offers something different to our current strikers.
