Another poll - who in our current squad would most likely be gay?

And please be light-hearted about it instead of coming out with some civic-minded holier than thou poppycock answer ok?

I put Yes just for a laugh. I wouldn't give a shite, I don't think most fans would either

As long as he did not insist on having sex on the pitch during the game I do not really see the problem. If he did I would have a problem with him as it would leave us with a man short or even two if his partner also played for us. That would be just irresponsible and I could not support that.

Quite frankly anyone who would consider supporting another team if we signed an openly homosexual player can fuck off and support West Ham.

You have all sang the song of a gay spurs player at the lane... Spurs, Liverpool and Man Utd have all in recent times had a gay first team regular.

I sang the song after I found out, and it bothered me not one bit. Sexuality and football have no relevance. The press all know who the gay players are/were and for once they did the right thing and didn't broadcast it.

Wether all fans are ready for openness from players I'm not sure. Some of the ignorance from fans across the board still amazes me.

Why would we even care?

Exactly who cares? Its not football fans raising this issue, but groups outside the game.

I'm assuming that the 6 people (at the time of writing) who have voted they'd re-consider supporting Spurs were born in the 1940s and forget it's the 21st century. If not, they have no business being a Spurs fan or on this forum imo.

It's not at all important, obviously. But I can see why players at this level doesn't come out. When Bale gets monkey chants and Kane get "mong sounds" and chants directed at him, there would definitely be an unhealthy deal of abuse. And what about an away game in Russia. That country is fucking rotten when it comes to stuff like that.

But 8% is depressingly much, given that they're not taking the piss.

Definitely. The gays are allowed to get married and to vote, and now they want to play football as well?

Political correctness gone mad.

I do have a bit of an issue with Trans sportspeople tbh. Not so sas I'd 'stop supporting a team' it not watch them - it's not a moral issue I could give less of a shit if someone identifies as the other gender. But there's the issue of hormones & such, men's & women's sports are split fir a practical reason (strength & stamina) & there are gender lines that need to be considered. I don't know much about it, other than the broad strokes of it mainly due to Caster Semenya - but there are others too and it's a can of worms. On a practical, not moral level

Probably applies more to the women's game than the men's since there's the physical advantage of male hormones/ gender

Is this even a serious question? i guess there are some "religious" people who might feel strongly, but the rest of us who dont believe in magical beings floating about in the sky just dont care.

Id actually be quite proud if we signed a gay player.

It could really do with a handful of players releasing a statement together surrounded by teammates. Then there wouldn't be 'the first'. Of course then the country's real problem would rear its ugly head, the gutter press. 'Have you got a story?' Would follow every article until they could dress up a chance sexual encounter as an act of sexual depravity. Fans could handle a gay player at their club but once the media put their own slant on it, they'd dig in until the idiots became more verbal in the stands and on social media. Once that's done they'd magnify it and call the fans homophobes. Yay, more column inches and suddenly they're the innocent ones for reporting it.
