More from Clinton Morrison on BBC text. He's really earned his money today.

"You have to give credit to Wycombe because they made it a cup tie until the last couple of minutes. Jose Mourinho had to bring on the big guns but they delivered for Tottenham, although that was never a 4-1 scoreline."

Spurs stats: 73% possession, 28 shots, 10 on target. (Wycombe had 6 shots, 2 on target)

Disclaimer: I didn't see the match.
They were 6 shots, 2 on target at HT.

Didn't get a sniff 2nd half.

Yeah. The goal will only protect him from fans getting in his back until his next performance. He’s really dropped off the season which is a shame as he’s a likeable lad. He’s almost 25 now.
It's the vitriol against him that is unpleasant. Some just can't seem to offer criticism without a shitload of bile to go along with it.

I personally think we need to move Winks on, as I don't think he's going to get any better than he currently is, but he's not shit, like some would have you believe, he's just not good enough for a key position in a team with our aspirations.

Guessing half of you mentioning the look of Ainsworth as a musician didn't hear the bit in commentary where it was said he is actually in a band..
Was he performing at half time? If not I don't get the leather jacket on the touchline. Screams lack of professionalism to me.

Yeah, I do hate shit like this. Or when the commentator says the score line is flattering to Spurs. They did not play all that well. We weren’t great in the first half and were a smigde unlucky too. In a sense, Marine I thought played better as a team than Wycombe tonight. It is disingenuous to flower them with praise, as the fact is they weren’t very good, and for about 70 mins we weren’t very sharp. A different night, we would have already been 3-0 up by 70mins.

It's just a coat? If he feels comfortable in it, what's the problem?
No problem he's not our manager.

Perhaps all their players can turn up in whatever they like too. All go to training in their casual slacks. Everyone wearing something different.? Real team like.

Maybe it's just me, but the manager should be setting an example. What he does outside the club is his business. If I was the owner and he was representing my brand I'd be making sure he was either dressed smart, or in sponsored team wear.

The difference between this thread's reaction to Winks' poor decision to balloon one into orbit and Son's missed sitter shortly after was embarrassing.

Agreed.

He actually made some great runs today and looked like he had a point to prove.

He's a decent player and a great professional but just isn't good enough for a team challenging for trophies. The lad is Spurs through and through and has given everything for this club. Whether he lasts or not the very least he deserves is respect.

Alex Ferguson says in his book that he could tell how well drilled an opponent were going to be by how the squad and manager present themselves getting off the bus.

I think he’d be delighted to see the manager rock up in a leather jacket.

It's just a jacket though? It doesn't affect how his team plays or how he manages them. Really don't see the issue. Not like it has another company's logo all over it either. Just a plain black leather jacket.

What next? His hair isn't short an stylish so that's a problem, too? Give over.

The man has sold the large public some horseshit over the years and especially in his books, but he was certainly a great manager.

He got them promoted. It's a coat on a cold night. If you judge someone by their coats then you need to rethink how you judge people. Reminds me of those who felt tattoos and piercings weren't professional, yet never stopped anyone doing their job. It's a bit of clothing.
