Good News everybody.

Never heard it once at the game last night so let's hope that's the end of it.

Plenty of choruses at the back of the Bell & Hare before the game, I can assure you.

Last night after another of Riley's mysterious decisions, the bloke behind me shouted "F**k off Riley you're just like a guard at Auschwitz!"

I turned round to look at him, totally speechless. He looked at me and said "It's true mate, when they put on that black uniform they hate Jews".

Anyone who's met me knows I'm always one for a quick comeback. But what he said completely floored me. I still don't know what if anything I should or could have said.

They were also singing.

"oh when the spurs, go steaming in, oh when the spurs, go steaming in, I wanna be in that number, oh when the spurs, go steaming in"

I hate them like no other team.

Any anti-Semitic chants from Chelsea?

I was too far from their fans to hear, but I think we can give that a big YES in general terms:

A Jewish Chelsea season ticket holder says he’s too scared to return to his seat after being subjected to a vicious verbal anti-semitic onslaught at Stamford Bridge.
Wishing to remain anonymous, the supporter told TJ of his ordeal which began 20 minutes into Chelsea’s 6-1 win over Derby last Wednesday night.

Having heard a group of Chelsea fans who were sitting nearby him shout ‘Grant you Jewish Bastard’, in reference to Chelsea’s Israeli manager Avram Grant, the supporter responded to them and was then subjected to a barrel of verbal abuse for the remainder of the match.

He said: “Although I may perhaps have been unwise to say that they were out of order, I was then subject to chants ranging from being told to ‘shut up you Jewish bastard’, and being called a ‘Jewish ****’.

“Worse then followed as a large section of the stand in unison began chanting disgusting chants about the Holocaust. There was abuse coming in my direction from roughly 50 supporters for about 10 minutes after which, approximately 50-100 people started to mimic the sound of gas with loud wheezing noises.” A friend then informed the stewards of the situation to be told that they would monitor the situation.

To be fair I'm not sure that this is right.

I am very close to the visitors and I never heard this, from what you said you were pretty much at the other end of the stadium and could well have mis-heard.

I was misled by the poll and voted yes because it says do we suffer from xenophobis / anti semitism - and yes - the hissing noises certainly are. I now see the article and realise that isn't what it means.

It so sad that there're people who still stoop to this retarded level of discourse.

Did the Spurs fans chant anything anti-Semitic? (Grant/Abramovic)...

In retrospect of the highly debaticle chants (Adebayor, Chelsea run by a jew chants...), has Spurs (the fans) become more xenophobic/anti-Semitic?

Are Tottenham's proud record of being pro-Semitic and tolerant towards all races, religions, people of various skin colours etc. slithering??

What the hell does "debaticle" mean? Is it even a word?

Well our fans were definitely not singing it.

This is one of the best threads ever in Spurs Chat, some really good debate.

Personally I don't think the chant is racist, but if our own fans are offended then it should stop. The thing that really pisses me off about that chant is that it is crap. "his dad washes elephants"- what a crap line! Shoudl have something in it about having AIDS.

I won't sing the 'dad washes elephant' song, not because if is supposedly racist, can't it myself. but I refuse to utter the name of the player or any other that is not one of ours. except Sol Campbell song, but that is really about ledley

The "stick Sol Campbell song" is the worst song in our history. The song makes us look like massive ****s and I refuse to sing it.

Mentioning that **** when singing a song about our beloved captain is a joke and with that song and the Adebayour song, really says a lot about our so called supporters.

I feel the Adebeyour chant is very minor, when put alongside the 'Campbell' one.

I don't like the C**pbell one, and feel it is now so old, as to be ancient!

However, on a (slightly) different note, I would imagine that elephant-washing is likely to be an honourable occupation and have no doubt that said elephants are appreciative of the service provided.

Pretty sure they sing "oh when the BLUES go steaming in" As in steaming in to a fight! Heard them singing it when i was an undercover yid in the Mathew Harding Stand a few years ago.

Further to that article...I remember David Baddiel (from fantasy football) saying that he moved from his seat in the Mathew Harding stand because he couldn't put up with some of the disgusting anti semitic abuse from some of the knuckle dragging pricks sitting around him.

I hate those combat18 loving tossers.
