8M euros:eek:

Google translated for the lazy and non-Francophiles:

Tottenham has reactivated the trail leading to French international midfielder Yann M'Vila, who is currently in Rennes.

According to an English source, Tottenham is willing to pay eight million euros to recruit French international midfielder Yann M'Vila (22 years, Rennes), whose contract expires in June 2015. Le Breton had been approached last summer, but without success. The Red and Black had declined an offer of five million euros ... After a special time a loan, the Spurs are ready to go out the checkbook. The track is active and concrete. Arsenal (who still has overseen against Valenciennes) and QPR are also on the move

€8m is a steal, even though he's a complete nutter.

Would be an upgrade on Hudd and Livermore for sure, and Yann can actually pick a pass and is rather crafty in midfield.

I'd love to sign him. Good player and a midfield of him and Sandro would scare the f**k out of everyone.

Parker might only have 5 months left at the club given his advanced age.

M'Vila is a clear upgrade on Livermore and Hudd. If he can be picked up for a song, why not? Unless of course it restricts our Moutinho and Willian purchases ( yeah right! )

Seems very much like a Levy deal to me.

....but what would QPR pay for Parker if that rumor is true? If it's anything close to that figure then levy will jump at it.

M'vila is about ten years younger, a better passer of the ball, equally combative and less of an injury concern. I agree you'd lose something in the experience/leadership equation but there are more pros than cons and levy loves that sort of deal.

Great buy for 8m Euros. If we managed to get £7-8m for Parker to QPR and sell Livermore for £4-5m, then we could do great business here. Add Moutinho with Hudd & Gomes leaving and our midfield is scarily good. If needed we could either have a 6th choice midfielder in Jenas or sell him too for additional funds. M'Vila, Sandro, Dembele, Moutinho, Carroll & we'd be up there with City for best midfield in the league.

6.5 million GBP? We can easily get that kind of money from sales of others so he effectively will cost nothing and is an upgrade on what we have. If Moutinho/Eriksen fails I want money to be spent on him.

Different type of player than those two. This move would (likely) go through if we sold Parker as well as the reported costs (if accurate) would be fairly similar. Would probably mean keeping Gallas though for experience, and would still need a Davids type signing too, but the future would see us stacked.

If this fella could sort his head out he'd be brilliant. Physically imposing powerhouse in the middle of the park that has the technical ability to go with it. If that figure quoted is correct, I say take the risk.

Parkers 32, m'vila's 22 .. i wouldnt be put of this transfer ''because we have parker'' infact if M'vila spent the rest of the season learning from him then taking over from him next season, scotty would be a great mentor to M'vila.

Least we wouldn't have to worry about him getting injured on international duty....

Yeh right, i'm Mvilla would love to come and spend the rest of the season on our bench...

This transfer is not a priority. We need more creativity and guile not another box to box powerhouse.

He's actually a very capable passer and creator, but has been forced to play in a more defensive role.
