Who knows what will happen next month re. transfers, but it might be a bit of fun to fuck around with scenarios/guesswork and see what we can come up with. Been a bit conservative with mine for now and based it on just yedders coming in for certain, also, I think we'll keep soldado, especially as Ade is now in the wind.

Will throw out other configs as the window progresses, but for now I think this would be a decent set up in what I think will be a concerted effort by poch, post window, to begin to really work on his 4231...

Lloris
--------Faz------Verts------
Walker------------------Davies
-Mason---Bentaleb
Eriksen-----Kane-------Yedlin
Soldado

That gives us a better balance of pace, strength and guile and will allow for the 3 to begin to rotate properly. Eriksen needs to bring his Everton performance to proceedings from now on as well.

The only adjustment I'd make to that is maybe Chadli up top for bobby.

Oh no...I think @thinktank has caught what Ade has.

Yedlin as an attacking midfielder, playing inverted, is essentially Lennon, with less experience, and still no ability to cross from the left....

Yedlin? maybe play Danny Rose in the VDV role since he scored one time from range

Swap Yedlin for Chadli and you're spot on with what we should be making our default first XI from now on.

He wouldn't br crossing from the left, he'd be cutting in with his pace and shitting up the defense. ;) the 3 would also rotate positions which we really haven't seent hat much of yet, but his support potential on that wing would unleash davies more.

He's played MF as well.

I'm sure @yankspurs knows more about that.

Thought about that but I don't like chadli in front of Davies...just doesn't feel right to me.

I think davies needs a very mobile speedster in front of him.

Lloris;
Walker, Faz/Moreno, Vert, Rose/Davies;
Bentaleb, Mason;
Lamela, Eriksen, Shaqiri;
Kane/Soldado

Maybe Shaqiri, Kane, Eriksen behind Soldado instead.

We won't sign Shaqiri.

I'd just put all our stops out on getting MS into midfield, put Kane as our only scoring CF up top, and have natural footers either side of Eriksen as the hook. Ok Lamela isn't really a wide player, but I'd be happy to hear suggestions on who would be a good left sided attacking midfielder that's available to us.

Seriously, Yedlin? We don't even know if he'll work in his proper position at RB, let alone
over on the fucking left wing! LOL. Optimistic to say the least.

Don't think they'd sell us MS until the summer now, look what happened once he got injured.

Would keegan love it though.

Yedlin has potential because of his attacking ability when played from a defensive position. He does not have a future as an attacking player imo. I don't think he has much in the way of skills to take on defenders, and attack the goal, or to actually shoot accurately.

If we played a midfield diamond, I could see him as an outside mid-fielder on the right, providing width on the wing, but not as an AM in a 4-2-3-1
