Dembele is one of the first names on the team shirt for me. I think it will be him and Sandro with Paulinho just in front of them, rotating with Holtby.

Surprised at that as much as I love Mousa (had him on my shirt last season) I feel he's most at risk of being dropped in the midfield 3. He really needs to work back to that start of the season form.

Chadli ---------- Soldado ---------- Bale
Dembele ---------- Paulinho
Sandro
BAE --- Vertonghen --- Kaboul --- Walker
Lloris
Subs: Gomes, Dawson, Caulker, Carroll, Holtby, Siggy, Ade.
Would also like to see a lot more youngsters making the step up too.
Whether we get Soldado or not, I certainly think we will get a new striker. I would rather have Kane up front that Defoe and Ade, as I have lost faith in these two completely.
Oooops: Forgot about Lennon, on the subs bench

Was that a question?

Yes, I watched last season and Dembélé was not a creative force, not even close. He is brilliant at bringing the ball up the field but after that he just lays the ball of or blast it well wide. Playing him as a CAM would not work.

Holtby wasn't great for us last season but he sure as hell was in the U21 tournament a few weeks ago. If we can get that out of him next season then he should

got another question for you.

Why would you replace one of our best players last year for one of our worst???????????????????
answer: you dont and AVB wont either

*if* dembele is dropped out of the starting XI, it won't be to sit on the bench full time, don't worry guys. there will be a full rotation going on, which is the most intelligent route to go. we have a LOT of games to play next season (league, europa, cup games), and injuries will happen, so a strong squad will be needed.
I expect our midfield 3 to look like this:

holtby (siggy)
sandro (dembele/thudd) - paulinho (dembele/thudd)
where dembele will be first sub/rotation player going in for sandro or paulinho. i think we'll see an even split between having sandro/dembele, sandro/paulinho and paulinho/dembele as our 2 anchor midfielders in games, depending on the opponent and injuries.

It doesn't look like you can since I never suggested that we should "replace" Dembélé with Holtby.

Well in your team holtby in it and dembeles not. Replace, swap , rest , rotate whatever you want to call it
holby is a good squqad payer but IMO dembele , sandro and paulinho will be our 3 1st choice midfield this season.

Holtby and sig will be great back up.

Oh yeah, all that creativity. I find it hard to belive that all three will be first choise. If we don't sign more people I think either Holty or Siggy will be starters in a more advanced role.

And all that creativity we got from Sig and Holtby last year.

From the players AVB plays and the players we have signed since he has been in charge I think we are more about power than creativity, so I expect a 3 of sandro, dembele, and paulinho in a lampard type role, and bale, soldado???,and creative wide player???

Feel i need to 'jump in' here, Holtby and Sigurdsson played the majority of their games out of position or with limited time at the end of a game we were already struggling in. I believe Holtby is the best midfielder we have when it comes to having the ball at his feet and it will show this season, Paulinho/Dembele will have to be playing very well to keep him out of the team.

Fair point. But they both did start in their favourite positions and got moved quickly because they weren't up to it at the time.

Personally think we did better when they played in their main positions. One of our best performances was with Sigurdsson CAM away to Reading. Neither of them were Modric or Rafa but both were better than Dempsey in CAM role for the team but thats a whole other debate.

Your right, but the few games after sig was awful that's why he got subbed and then moved to the wing.

Holtby had a good sub cameo but when he started CMA he wasn't ready that why he didn't play there again

Hasn't Holtby come out and said (along with others) that his best position is sitting in front of the back four in a
more defensive capacity?

Yes he had a creative element to his game but not greater than the Moose, Siggy or Dempsey.

I think our first choice three in the middle will be Moose, Paul and Sandrooooooo.

I think up top we'll have some combo of Ade/Soldado with Bale and Chadders. Back four: Benny (or replacement), Verts, Kabs and Walks.

Hugo in goal.

Teamtalk done.
