I'd really like to see us go full on Ultra MegaZord for an away game at one of the top 3 sides

--------------------------------Lloris
Walker----------Kaboul------------Vertonghen------Rose

----------------------Sandro---Pauling
-----------------------------Kapow
-----------------Dembele--------------Bale

--------------------------Soldando

All width would have to come from Rose and Walker but that is pure Angus Beef, like to see Chelsea or City play there way through that

hahaha not sure if you're taking the piss or just a typo but Soldando and Kapow made me laugh.

Can I just say the team we have now is too good to be in this realistic thread and how crazy is that?

Just realised i posted with 10 players.... doh! fixed.

Hi all, first time poster.... How exciting is this eh???? Best team we've had in years ON THE PITCH... not just on here! Gonna be a great season I think.

Anyway, my realistic dream team would be:

With Bale

Loris

Walker Kaboom Dawson. Verts

Sandro. Capoue

Willian. Paulinho. Bale

Soldado

I've put bale and willian on the wings but in reality they'll both have free roles. I've also given verts the left back spot as he is an excellent defender and good going forward. He also played in that position for Ajax and for Belgium. Quite surprised this has been suggested more on here.

Without Bale is a simple replacement of Bale with Lamela and maybe verts with concetrau depending on the deal with verts replacing Dawson at CB. Would worry about starting 2 new players in such key positions as willian and Lamela straight off, so would replace with Chadli/dembele/Siggy/Townsend/Holtby/maybe Carroll if desperate... Probably in that order until both up to speed. I've not included Lennon as he is a winger and I'm not sure a free role would suit him. He's experienced though so might be wrong

Lots of cover for all positions in the squad and good cover at that. Can't help feel we need an old dog centre back to sure things up in big games and when we Inevitably get our defensive injury crisis in feb .... Someone like a Naybet or a Gallas.... Cheeky bid for Rio????? Na.... He's a dick. Someone like that though.[/quote]

I was going to say everyone's 'realistic teams' look crap compared to the actual team we're putting together haha.

Some financial analysis would make this interesting. Let's assume Uncle Joe's given us 50 million to spend on top of what we make through sales. We'll also assume that Bale leaves for 75 million plus Coentrao. I'll also assume we've made 25 million in other sales so far, which is a reasonable estimate.

Out: BAE (8 million), Gomes (2), Naughton (3), Townsend (unfortunately seems likely - 8 million), Sigurdsson (again unfortunate but he's fallen down the pecking order imo - 8 million), Adebayor (lets hope - 7 million), Bale - 75 million.

So that's 111 million, plus the 50 million from Joe gives us a budget of £161 million to spend.

We've spent 57 million so far, plus let's say 60 million for Lamela and Willian, which takes it to 117 million of spending. That still gives us a 44 million left to spend, and our squad looks approximately like this:

GK: Lloris, Friedel
Defense: Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Dawson, Coentrao, Rose, Fryers
Midfield: Sandro, Capoue, Dembele, Paulinho, Holtby, Carroll
Attack: Willian, Lamela, Lennon, Chadli, Soldado, Defoe.

New players in bold. Our squad looks almost complete but with 44 million left to spend we definitely would need another CB, and may as well buy another top quality creative midfielder/attacker (hopefully someone Liverpool happens to be after). Imo with two more additions that squad should be more than capable of winning the title.

I also think it's amazing that the players in bold can be funded completely by outgoing players, it is only a net spend of 6 million. The only player of true quality going out would be Bale, but we've got 5 or 6 top quality players in which are purely funded by sales.

Im sorry but i really dont see our starting XI ever having 3 of the 4 beasts unless we are closing out a game or at OT/SB etc. one true forward thinking player will get that ACM spot, whether it be Holtby/Sig/Willian

Lloris
Walker Kaboul Jan Rose
Paulinho Sandro
Bale Holtby Willian
Soldado

That would be my ideal XI. Its got everything. Solid defence able to play a high line. Sweeper keeper. Bombing FBs providing width. 2 CBs able to bring the ball out. Destroyers and ball carriers. Lethal finishing in Soldado. Creativity intelligence and passing range in Holtby/Willian. and of course Bale, if not Lamela.

Ahhhh :)

I think we have a realistic chance of fielding this team next season providing we make the CL.

Eventually AVB will want to us to play the 4-3-3 formation which served him well at Porto which means a switch up in tactics and a few tweaks here and there in personnel.

Firstly the back 5 picks itself and I think Danny Rose will be our starting LB next season. He's done very well at Sunderland, been one of their best players and has proved that he can play at LB in the Premiership. I think this is BAE's last season at Spurs sadly as I don't think he fits into the manager's plans.

With Kaboul coming back he will make a formidable centre back pairing alongside Verts.

Midfield is where it's at. Sandro playing at the base of it and with Holtby and Dembele playing either side of him you have everything that you want in a midfield three, creativity, strength, dribbling, passing, technique and most important high pressing which caters massively to AVB's tactics. Holtby and Dembele can interchange and share forward runs so that we're not too predictable when we attack.

Holtby has said that he prefers playing deeper and not so high up the pitch and IMHO Dembele would be better playing in a midfield three instead of a midfield two. They'd be less emphasis on his passing for one, that would be down to Holtby to be the creator but in role he has more of a license to go forward and take players on not to mention dropping back in defence when defending which he is very good at doing as well.

For the Forwards, I know people don't really want to move Bale but I honestly think that he'd be just as devastating playing on the right in this forward line. Hulk played a similar role for Porto under AVB and scored an absolute bagful of goals. He almost played a free role but had the license to cut in from the right to provide support to Falcao. He'd have more space on the right to cut inside and I think we can set the team up to cater towards him like we have done this season. Also I really don't think that he needs to play in the centre, I think playing him on the right will be less predictable as Walker will be an over-lapping full back. Real have done this with Ronaldo playing as an inside forward which hasn't stopped him scoring goals for them.

Can we get Higuain? Well with him apparently not being happy at Real and with his mrs moving over to London I honestly think we have a chance of landing him.

Eriksen is ready to leave Ajax as well, although he's been deployed as an attacking midfielder for Ajax I think he could play the forward role as he's good enough technically.

Brad, Caulker, Dawson, Carroll, Townsend, Lennon, Defoe

Meh - at least I got Eriksen correct.

So how does your squad match up with reality?
