I think we have a realistic chance of fielding this team next season providing we make the CL.

Eventually AVB will want to us to play the 4-3-3 formation which served him well at Porto which means a switch up in tactics and a few tweaks here and there in personnel.

Firstly the back 5 picks itself and I think Danny Rose will be our starting LB next season. He's done very well at Sunderland, been one of their best players and has proved that he can play at LB in the Premiership. I think this is BAE's last season at Spurs sadly as I don't think he fits into the manager's plans.

With Kaboul coming back he will make a formidable centre back pairing alongside Verts.

Midfield is where it's at. Sandro playing at the base of it and with Holtby and Dembele playing either side of him you have everything that you want in a midfield three, creativity, strength, dribbling, passing, technique and most important high pressing which caters massively to AVB's tactics. Holtby and Dembele can interchange and share forward runs so that we're not too predictable when we attack.

Holtby has said that he prefers playing deeper and not so high up the pitch and IMHO Dembele would be better playing in a midfield three instead of a midfield two. They'd be less emphasis on his passing for one, that would be down to Holtby to be the creator but in role he has more of a license to go forward and take players on not to mention dropping back in defence when defending which he is very good at doing as well.

For the Forwards, I know people don't really want to move Bale but I honestly think that he'd be just as devastating playing on the right in this forward line. Hulk played a similar role for Porto under AVB and scored an absolute bagful of goals. He almost played a free role but had the license to cut in from the right to provide support to Falcao. He'd have more space on the right to cut inside and I think we can set the team up to cater towards him like we have done this season. Also I really don't think that he needs to play in the centre, I think playing him on the right will be less predictable as Walker will be an over-lapping full back. Real have done this with Ronaldo playing as an inside forward which hasn't stopped him scoring goals for them.

Can we get Higuain? Well with him apparently not being happy at Real and with his mrs moving over to London I honestly think we have a chance of landing him.

Eriksen is ready to leave Ajax as well, although he's been deployed as an attacking midfielder for Ajax I think he could play the forward role as he's good enough technically.

If we are going to play a 4-3-3 next term why don't we try and get a old-fashion English CF to play up front, someone who has the presence up front and can actually play, unlike Ade?

I know Benteke would be first on many's list, but if Villa manage to stay up he may cost quite a bit. Is there any cheaper options out there? Carroll? Jordan Rhodes perhaps?

With gotze going to bayern, there is talk that Robben is the one to be pushed out and sold for a "very reasonable" price. I would wonder if we could coerce him here after landing a striker. Him and Bale together is the thing of nightmares for defenses. Its a low shot I think could happen. Edit: I was thinling of ribery as being french. Whoops!

I'm not sure about Robben, seems he is not really a "team" player, probably hefty on the wage front also.
It would make sense he would transfer though, far too direct playing style for Pep IMO..

I'd take Ribery over Robben, he is hard as fook but goes over like Parker. I also think he might be ushered towards the exit albeit far less forcefully than Arjen

yup, agree with this. robben is liable to break just by putting on his shin pad.

It's supposed to be realistic. That team is pure fantasy.

Why is it fantasy ? Shaw is feasible, Eriksen will leave cheaply as he only has 1 year left on his contract, Higuain wants out of Madrid and his missus is in London, Rodriguez might be the difficult one because he is at Porto but replace him with Son and you'll still have a team chasing for the title.

It's just never going to happen. Shaw would cost well over £10m, Eriksen won't be that cheap. I'd imagine that he'd be around £12-13m, still a lot of money. I just can't see Higuain joining us. He's cost a fuck load and is far more likely to go to someone like Chelsea IMO. Rodriguez will never happen. Ever. Son is very feasible though.

Shaw won't cost more than 10m, Saints are still a small club. Eriksen will cost 10m max given the length of contract. Higuain isn't on the radar for Citeh/Chelski, they are after Falcao and Cavani who are perceived as a level above Higuain.
