Shaw won't cost more than 10m, Saints are still a small club. Eriksen will cost 10m max given the length of contract. Higuain isn't on the radar for Citeh/Chelski, they are after Falcao and Cavani who are perceived as a level above Higuain.

I'd be very surprised if anyone signed Shaw for £10m or under. This isn't the same situation as it was when we signed Bale off them. They're a safe team in the Premier League and have no need to sell. The player's happy and just signed a new deal. They'll rip anyone off that wants to sign him. Don't bother dreaming about Higuain pal, it won't happen.

Out of interest beyond Son who do you think is realistic for us to sign ?

Why would they take 10m if Liverpool would pay 12? Oh, we will pay 14 if pool pays 12? Fuck.... Liverpool will pay 15 and a half!

Wanted players are never cheap, whether they have little contract left or not.

I was scouring through some stats the other day from the Jupiler Pro League (Belgium's top division) and I originally was just looking to see if there could be another Benteke gem to uncover and really just stumbled across this young fella named Imoh Ezekiel.

So, after seeing his impressive stats I decided to check out YouTube. Now, usually I'd elect to watch full matches because it's the best way to get a sense of the player's strengths/weaknesses, but it's hard has hell to find Pro League matches. If anyone out there has watched this kid extensively I'd love to know more.

It's important to note that Benteke came from this league and he's been a star.

Imoh Ezekiel is a lone striker type but to me looks like he's got the skillset to be a wide forward as well. And, he's only 19 years old. He's registered 14 goals and 5 assists in 22 league matches.

Anyway, I found this nice video and thought I'd share it:

There are a few good forwards there. I know Batshuayi, Mokulu Tembe, and M'Poku are all young and doing good there. In Eredivisie, there is lens and this guy Finnbogason (icelandic), who has 24 goals in 28 games. Problem is, English commentators could never pronounce half their names, so there's no point really

(433) Lloris; Walker, Kaboul, Vertonghen(c), * ;
Sandro, Dembele, * ; Lennon, * , Bale.

To be a top quality team we need a new left back, a central midfielder and a striker.
Sell all of the dross and we should have plenty to spend. Who we can get is guesswork .
If we're in the Champions league I don't see why we can't go for:-
LB: Baines
CM: Moutinho/Cabaye/Erikson
CF: ??No idea ?? Higuain :0)
We can dream can't we?

I'd be interested to see whether we show any interest in Léo Baptistão.

Would be good to see Moussa score more next season, hopefully the return of Sandro will release him more.

What an impressive run, such skill and strength

An obvious name that I don't really see mentioned is Hatem Ben Arfa. Real live wire, can play all across the AMs and in a stronger attacking team I think he could grab more goals than Lennon does. A 4-3-3 with Bale, a better striker, Ben Arfa would be pretty exciting and full of pace and flair. Only issue is price. I think if you could get him for 18m ish then you are buying a PL proven player who at 26 is entering his prime right now.

..........................Lloris..........................
Walker......Kaboul....Vertonghen...Baines
.........................Sandro........................
................Dembele...Holtby..................
Ben Arfa...........Soldado................Bale

Friedel, Rose, Dawson, Caulker, Sigurdsson, Carroll, one of JD or Ade, Lennon, Clasie/Parker, Townsend would make 21 players.

Gone - Gallas, Gomes, Ekotto, one of JD or Ade, Dempsey, Parker ?, Livermore, Huddlestone = 30m and 350K in wages approx

Baines 15m ish
Ben Arfa 18m ish
Soldado 22m ( financially fucked Valencia finish 5th and need to sell )

55m BUT only around 200-220K in wages.

That would be a right naughty team. We would need to get CL and spend some money, but boy, that team could threaten the Manchester clubs almost.

I usually pick other players when doing something like this, but tried different ones today. The main theme that is wrong with it is that none of these players are particularly young, but they DO all represent experience and definitive quality.

Fuck paying 18m for Ben Arfa. He's so overrated. Pops up every few months with a screamer, apart from that, not a great deal. If we're going to break out transfer record at least make it worthwhile.

We'd be breaking it on Soldado though:). We'll have to agree to disagree on Ben Arfa, I rate him more highly than you do and think he contributes a lot more than the odd screamer. Having said that, as already stated, I tried mixing things up this time around, I've never picked him before when playing about with potential signings. Mertens would be a more affordable option.
