Break the bank, rob from it if we have to but let's get Bale back. That would be an end to those stubborn defences!

Why is Isco being mentioned?
Doesn't seem to be favoured by Zidane.

Zidane so far has preferred a 4-3-3 with Casemiro, Kroos, and Modric in midfield with Ronaldo and Bale on the wings. Isco really just has his butt parked on the bunch under Zidane unless they need a goal and he switches to more of a 4-2-3-1.

It's why there's all these Rodriguez and Isco rumours as they're not starters and likely want to be, even if it's somewhere else.

Do whatever we can to take Mahrez. Done.
I really wanted us to sign him this time last year but even then it seemed his value had gone up more than we would pay for him

After his amazing season last year his value to other clubs would put him beyond our reach I think - he could probably go to any top club in England and many in europe (all of who would significantly trump our wage offer) he's more likely to end up at Arsenal, Chelsea or even City

With Poch in charge I have to say this type of signing looks increasingly unlikely. Of course if the perfect situation like VdV comes around, we have to at least have a sniff, but I think that's all we do nowadays, and very discreetly as well. Poch obviously likes to coach up a younger squad and looks for players he can take and mold rather than dealing with something like a 27yo "finished product."

We should look at Real Madrid really. They have James Rodriguez, Isco and Marco Asensio (granted Asensio is not a VDV style signing). Zidane seems to withdraw these players or push them out wide whereas we could offer a more central advanced position which is arguably more suitable. Anyway, pipe dream even if we are looking for another attacking midfielder. Gotze would still be great.

James would be amazing. Way out of our wage budget but honestly think we should start opening up a little more. Respect Levy though as it may be tough with the stadium coming and once one player is on 140k a week, they'll all want that when the goals start flying in.
