Following today's excellent but surprising debut from nabil bentelab, and fredricks excellent display in the anzi match, how good would it be to have a core group of youngsters mixing it for places in the first 11.

Say what you like about AVB, but he seems to have brought Kane on leaps and bounds from someone that looked out if place. To someone we all want to see more of.

Seeing as we bought them through I'm going to include Rose and Walker in the following list;

Walker
Rose
Townsend
Kane
Carroll
Bentelab
Fredricks

Seems like someone or rather the club is doing something right here.

I've not been a supporter of Tim thus far, but what he did today took balls, big frickin balls, but it proved a point. I wanted Carroll starting this year especially with the lack of a deep to front forward passer. Point is he's ready. Nabil showed he's ready, say what you like about Townsend, he's got almost unlimited potential and he's ready, Kane looks ready, so did fredricks.

Do you think all the list can make it to being first team 'stars' or do we think squad players?

I believe all could be potential stars,, if coached well all have potential to get better and better.

I know people talk of Pritchard and I've seen some bits from him, but the question is who else is coming through that is ready??? With potential to be a star and that is ready?

Blessings.

You might be able to add Adam Smith to that, this season has been a disappointment at Derby but the season before he was great in the championship.

Veljkovic is highly rated but needs to prove he can cope with a physical game before getting time at CB at Spurs, probably a loan would be a good idea.

Walker wasn't brought through our youth setup. But yeah, can't wait to see more of the likes of Bentaleb and Kane in particular. Hopefully they'll still get some game time in the Europa.

Must. Not. Rate. Funny.
Laugh all you want, he's certainly doing a good job for Hull this season and is proving that he's PL material. Automatic starter for any bottom half side, decent squad player for us.

He is playing very well for a PL club that is very hard to beat and thats not bad for the player who was the worst on loan out of Bostock, Parrett, Carroll, Mason and etc.
Incredible how the supposedly least talented of that bunch is the one who's forging a good career for himself.

To be fair he is the only that got a chance with the first team and his confidence grew from there

Not sure you can include a player that cost £4 million.

As for Livermore I watched the game against Liverpool a couple of weeks back and he had a very solid game, has pitched in with a couple of Prem goals for them as well.

It's a bit like the X-Factor then, isn't it? :p
God, I remember when we got Bostock and he was meant to be the next best English midfielder, and then he never got any better after his 16th birthday. Parrett's down in League 2 now as well, I mind when he was meant to be decent. I'm glad Livermore is doing really well at Hull, dunno if he's good enough for where Spurs want to go yet, but he could get there I reckon. I think he's a Spurs fan as well, so it's always good to have local guys in the team.

I like Livermore, if I could choose one player to make it at Tottenham long term it would be him, mainly because he genuinely is a Tottenham man.

I don't think he will though but that still doesn't mean he has not been important to the club.

Bringing through our own players, giving them a chance not only with us but at forging themselves a good career, is always a good thing. It shows other youngsters it can be done with us and if ( when ) he gets moved on he brings in a decent transfer fee too.

I always keep an eye on our ex youth. Its good to see them making a career in the game even if its not to be at Tottenham. It shows we are doing something right.

Heard mixed bag feelings on smith, but I think fredricks showing the other week may limit his opportunities, seems were stacked at right back. Maybe moving naughton on may be the best thing for both parties.

The only 'party' that wouldn't benefit from Naughton moving on would be the club he joins!!!

Sorry Kyle...;)

I reckon that with a run of games at right back he'd look like a decent lower-half of the premiership player.

But I agree it's time for him to move on.

Kane, Carroll, Bentaleb, Veljkovic, Pritchard, McEvoy, Coulthirst all have the potential to make it as PL players IMO. When you add Livermore, Rose and Townsend who are already at this level to that mix, that really is an incredible amount of talent in just a few years.

What's more, is that having seen the U-18's a few times this season, I actually think they might have even more potential. If these are to be our academy's golden years, which they could well be, it is imperative that we give them the opportunity to make that breakthrough.

Hopefully, with the foundations we now have in place, these years will be long, and ultimately, prosperous.
