because if we dont, we will never know

and no harm in trying, see how we are short of CB's at the moment
But there not going to backdown on it (Just like Keane's), and we will miss Zok for 3 games instead of 1

So effectively we will be without Zokora for the rest of December and the ACN ? When does the ACN start exactly ?

he was going to miss 3 even if we didnt appeal, as i said, there is no harm in trying, what would be worse is if we didnt try.... cant see it being overturned but theres a slim chance, only if there is no chance and it was a deserved red should we not appeal

I said it before regarding the Keane decision, but it applies here too...the ref should come out himself and hold his hands up to having made a bad decision.

The problem is... it was a deserved red card. We (or just I) just feel it's unfair because of all the other similar and worse fouls that are commited and aren't punished to the same degree. I don't think Keane's was deserved of a red card at all, but Zokora's was. Two-footed tackles are supposed to be red card offences. It's just that referees often don't seem to give red cards for them.

Is that the rule? Or is it Andy Gray's dummed down version for the masses?

The tackle has to be 'dangerous' or 'violent'. It was neither.

I'm fairly certain that is the rule. I would consider it to be dangerous anyway. Any tackle that is two footed with studs up has to be.

What happens if you are 20 yards from any player, and fall over and slide two footed into the ball - is that then a dangerous tackle because studs were showing?

Or does a player have to be near?

Watch again, the player's nowhere near it. The decision is outrageous. Yes it's rash - dangerous? No. Violent? Of course not.

It's not a red card.

You wouldn't do it if you weren't near the player. In my opinion it's dangerous and those sort of tackles need to be eradicated from the game.

Right then, so where in those does this one fit, Jack?

Since your ability to interpret legislation is obviously greater than mine ...

well if the FA ever bothered to uphold section 6 of that i'd have a touch more time for them... I never understand why they don't... sure you'd have one saturday where every team finished with 8 players... but at least the fuckers would learn

So if a player jumps up for a header, elbows and arms out, and doesn't touch a player, he deserves to be sent off then?

He didn't touch Elano, end of story = No red card.

You can be sent of for intent, or thats what they tell us as well

So if a player goes to punch another player, but that player manages to avoid contact, he wouldn't get sent off?

But that isn't in the rules. That is just another made up media term like the daylight part of the offside rule.
