Could anyone other than Spursking please tell me what redeeming features this bloke has. He can't tackle, can't pass more than 5 yards and runs up blind allies. Even in a game today where we played against a really shocking team he was utterly useless. Surely his time is up ?

he makes important tackles + blocks
he wins a lot of free kicks
he has pace and stamina
he occasionally picks out a very good pass

Thought he played alright today, but I'd be hoping that we're going to sign a superior CM in the January window.

It seem everyone hate's the bloke.

Zokora has great pace he makes some good challenges during matches he makes passes which sometimes lead to goals, all he needs is a better end product.

I think ramos will get the best out of zoko.

he should be a squad player at best - it does sum up how poor our central midfield is. if JJ could perform like he did today on a more consistent basis then half our problem would be solved.

got his first shot on target today. probably the closest he´ll ever get to scoring. 2nd rate performance again.

Well everyone says he's shit, so he must be surely?

Its only that we have had 2 managers, and both have consistently played him. He must have something in him that appeals.

I simply think he's not good enough and should be replaced (sold if possible) in the transfer market. Tiago Mendes seems to be unsettled in Italy and he would be the perfect player we need in midfield. However, I don't know if we'll have to wait till the summer to know if Juve would want to negotiate.

A player that will definately be available in January and that I've been raving about for so long is Stephen Appiah. He should cost around 5-7 million and would be a certain improvement on Zokora

I've often been on the fence when it comes to Zokora but when Lennon is playing he seems to make things happen & at pace.

When Zokora isn't in the team we often struggle for a counter attack and everything kind of slows down when we get near their area.

the problem why zoko consitently plays is because there are no other options. TT's more often then not injured, the prince is inexperienced, the hudds been playing poorly and ghaly may as well not be a tottenham player anymore.

the fact he plays isn't done on merit, more because of the lack of alternatives, make no mistake.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

Ok, I'm wrong, I bow down to the irresistable force of your reasoned argument.

I'm not saying he's a world beater or that we couldn't do better, just that he does have attributes which make him a premiership quality footballer.

I'd love to see you try and disprove the qualities I have pointed out.

Appiah and Tiago in central midfield :hump: Pretty sure the fee's would be something like Appiah - £6m, Tiago about £8m-£10m. 15 odd million isn't much to pay if it sorts us out as it probably would.

I think Everton agreed £6 million for Appiah at the end of the transfer window, but couldn't get the deal done in time. It was too much of a rush as they were going to sign Fernandez, who then changed his mind and went to Valencia. So, at the last minute they turned their attention to Appiah, but just ran out of time to get the deal done, becasue he had a knee injury and would have required a thorough medical. As for Tiago he cost 13 million euros in the summer, so i'd say £8 million is about what he'd cost. All in all, I think you've made good price predictions.

I watched the game today, and thought Zokora had one of his better games, got forward a lot more, used his undoubted pace, I think he was shackled under the previous regime, as were others. I felt Dawson, Kaboul, Chimbonda, Lennon, Berbatov, Jenas all raised their games 20% today, and I am sure that is down to the manager.... I believe this guy lets players express themselves, doesn't try and shut up shop or muscle a draw away from home, which delights me :) I have the feel good factor for the first time in a very long time..... off to the pub now.

Eh? :eh: We paid £9m for Jenas and (I think) £5.6m for Zokora. That's pretty much the same money it'd cost for Appiah and Tiago, and I know which partnership I'd prefer.

Dude we paid £8million for Zokora :-|

Anyway for me Zokora is just average. His most redeeming quality is his pace and stamina. It's just a shame after he has run the whole length of the pitch he couldn't score or find a killer pass to set up one of our strikers. One other thing that does annoy me is how he has this tendancy to dance around the ball after he has controlled it. :?
