Why oh why does he think he can sign Llorentte? Here we go again, wrong focus wrong targets, and we'll end at 11:33pm with Charlton Cole

Llorente would be huge, but unlikely as he says. Carlton Cole time is finally here !!!

I have no doubt that if JJ's earlier tweets were positive, Akqa would be saying that Levy is trying to stun the footballing world by getting Llorente.

What really fucks me off is The Scummy Goons have PLENTY of attacking options after their business this window... QUALITY attacking players and at affordable prices....go figure!
Whoda thunk finishing 3rd would have made them a much mor attractive option. Shame we were never in with a shout. Might have made things easier for us for once. Ah well.

Oh yeah, can't Gylfi play up front? I'm sure I'm sure I read somewhere that he could...?
Might just be wishful thinking though.

I still Coulibaly should given a shot and he should have had a couple of cameos during pre-season with the senior squad. Might end up on the bench at this rate.

But anyways, still think we'll get a draw at Newcastle.

To be fair though, and although what you say is very fair, all those Clubs havn't just appointed a new manager and have the need we have for that centre forward.

If we drop a fair few points in the first three games of the season I'll be very pissed off. We can't get the Norwich and West Brom fixtures back again - even worse than last season in many ways as at least the games we dropped the points in at the start of the season were against the top two sides in the League.

But it's the old circular argument. We could have dumped 12 million in used twenties on Wolves' chairman's desk and walked away with Fletcher, and what would the reaction on here have been? The same as when we signed Bentinho, is my guess, but altogether more so. In addition, that would have been £12m out of a finite budget on a second-rate striker who'd have done a decent job for us but not been the 20-goals-a-season man we need. You only have to look at the difficulties City have had in signing a reliable top-flight striker to see the problem.

Can't disagree with that, but also can't remember a season in recent memory where we've kicked off the season having one senior striker on the books, whether on loan or permanent. Surely there's a middle ground between the Fletchers of this world and the Agueros? Well, common sense tells me there must be, but our scouting or recruitment teams (depending on who you think isn't up to this) haven't shown me any evidence in recent years to support this wild hypothesis... :(

Everybody just needs to chill the fuck out. As has been clearly demonstrated there is not a single "itk" that is privvy to everything that is going on. It certainly wouldn't be prudent for the finer details of strategy or delicately poised multi-million pound business transactions to be divulged to some idiot to spread across the internet.

I enjoy ITK and get excited about some it, but ultimately we will sign who we will sign (or not) and I am comforted somewhat by 2 facts.

1. There is absolutely nothing I can do to influence it.

2. No matter what happens I will still be a spurs fan until death releases me.

End of sermon

Yes SS57 - but the targets we are looking at should differ pretty significantly to those that City are looking at. I totally accept the point though, not easy in the slightest but I think exasperation has been heightened because of the length of time the issue has been dragging on.

Exasperation always clouds judgement.

I have to that even as a long time Levy-ite I'm quite concerned at the way this summer is panning out. To be going in to our first league game of the season with only one recognized professional striker on the books is nothing short of a disgrace.

My one main concern is we seem to think we are real contenders, and are trying to buy players from the top tier, knowing full well we cannot compete in terms of finance or status whilst we are not in the CL, getting snubbed or blown away by bigger clubs, leaving us scratting round for last minute bargains after all the best options have been had.
So, whilst I admire our plucky enthusiasm, maybe it's time for a dose of reality, and look at achievable targets and actually get them done early and concentrate on spending time together working as a unit being organised, the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts and all that... Then, when the stadium is done, financially we are closing the gap, and we have CL football, maybe then we can compete for the bigger name players.
