We're in a pot with 6 other seeded teams. The teams above are in another pot. One team from each pot is then drawn and placed into another pot from which the team playing at home first is then drawn. Seems a bit potty to me.

Yeah, I get that bit. What I was asking is how the teams in each pot were decided. Presumably another draw of some sort, but then they've got to keep teams from the same country apart.

I've no idea how they decided what, probably same countries and things? Here's what thjey said about the draw:

The teams will be divided into six groups for the draw at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland – five of ten teams and one of 12. Within all groups an equal number of sides are seeded and unseeded in accordance with the club rankings established at the beginning of the season.

We came 5th, why do we need to have a play-off? We didn't last year did we? I thought our ranking coefficient or whatever would put us straight into the group stages...?

we also finished 4th that year...
but the time before we finished 5th and played Hearts in the play off's

All I ask is that we don't get a Russian team... CBA with the travelling across to their snowy artificial pitch to lose 3-0 and then subsequently lose the next PL game, because of fatigue

Either way, they won't be traveling the week before our league match. Hopefully we'll get the second leg at home.

Yeah, first legs on 22nd August, second legs on 29th. We've got Swansea at home after the first leg, Arse away after the second.

Andre must recognise even the kids could overcome the first round, I'd be disappointed to see anymore than 1-2 of our first teamers travelling and only if that's an unavoidable necessity.

It's going to be played before NLD? Best send/play our 2nd team I swear!

annoying that Arsenal are home second leg
With the midfielder we are bringing in we can still send out a strong team
Brad in goals, who ever is fit in defence... rotate the midfeild a bit and Defoe/Ade up front depending who is still about.

Brad, Naughton, Dawson, Fryers, Rose, Holtby, Carroll, Capoue, Townsend, Chadli, Defoe should be able to comfortably beat any of the teams we might draw.

teams have been split into different post. 6 seeded and 6 unseeded.

we are in pot 6? so have to wait to see who we face of the unseeded teams

We'll play one of JK Nõmme Kalju (EST), FC Thun (SUI), FC Pasching (AUT), FC Dinamo Tbilisi (GEO), FC Astra (ROU) or FC Slovan Liberec (CZE)
