Things got so bad for Adebayor under previous head coach Andre Villas-Boas that he was sent to train with the reserves and forced to apologise to his team-mates for his behaviour from a raised platform.
“The fact he apologised shows you Ade wants to play for the club,” said Rose. “It goes without saying, he’s not short of money so he could have just sat and not done anything. But he apologised and that’s that. Whatever happened with the previous manager, it’s up to the manager.
“We had meetings about the situation. If a manager thinks something about someone, then we’ve all got to respect it. We might not agree with it, but we have to respect it.

It's a bit much, but in light of Adebayor's recent form everyone seems to have forgotten how much of a gigantic phallus he was last season. He obviously had a big personality clash with Andre, and a better man manager would've found a way of dealing with this, but that doesn't make up for his petulance, lack of professionalism, and disregard for both the club and the fans. That's disgusting that a grown man would be asked to do something like that.
I wouldn't let that bastard Villas Boas manage a dog kennel!
I think he was and he wasn't. I think Eriksen supported his full back just as much as Lennon did, just Lennon is better and most accustomed to the role than Eriksen is, as Eriksen isn't naturally a wide player. But it's a fair point.Part of it was he didn't have the protection Walker had.
Watch the first half again. That's simply not the case. Valencia's problem was he wasn't effective enough with his final ball, not a case of being marked out of the game as you're suggesting. That's the opposite of what really happened, Valencia was getting opportunity after opportunity to assist a goal and failed to take one. Rose was in fact the useless one in his primary job, which was not give Valencia the opportunity to create. It's because Eriksen was coming inside and defending that zone. If Eriksen wasn't there, your Rooney's, CLeverley's and Carrick's would have pinged it through the middle. Rose was getting close to Valencia first half, and rendered Valencia useless. Second half they swapped wings and Januzaj was getting a lot of joy 1 on 1 with Rose. Once we took Adebayor off, I would have put Chadli over to help with Rose against Januzaj, who would want to cut in against Chadli's stronger foot. Then put Eriksen in the middle.

I dunno about that, To me it looked like that Rose and co. were more worried about Valencia getting in behind and fizzing a ball across goal. Crossing isn't one of his strong points and so they were happy to stand off him and let him play 'hit and hope' crosses into the box from slightly deeper, backing Dawson and Chiriches to deal with Welbeck in an aerial duel.
Backing Chiriches to win aerial duels ? Sounds like a flawed plan to me. Is backing off and letting people cross the ball ever a good idea ? Doesn't sound very plausible.

I thought Rose played Valencia very well and forced him to cross from a deeper position he could of done with a bit more help when Januzaj played second half. In general Rose wasn't as bad as people made out. Imo.
Very few people who talk about pressing seem to understand how and why it's successful.
In fact, I don't think I've ever seen anyone who advocates PRESS-ING!!!!!!!!! above all else, actually explain why it works for, say, Barcelona - and thus why it was never going to work properly for AVB. Funny that. It's almost as if it's another buzzword, denuded of all meaning, used by those with suspiciously ample spare time to ham-fistedly club at anything that doesn't make sense to them.
Quite, players also don't have unlimited supplies of energy. It can be pretty useful for front players to have some energy in the tank to be effective when we are in possession as well, pressing when its not worthwhile is a drain on this valuable resource. Its like everything else in that there is a time and place for it and it should be done accordingly and not blindly and without good purpose.

This will go down well with some....
The Spurs left-back Danny Rose said that Sherwood’s switch to a system that includes two strikers had made a major difference. “No disrespect to Andre, but playing one up front has been a bit frustrating and hard for Soldado at times,” Rose said. “It is just nice that he has got a bit of help up there with Adebayor.
“The first season under Harry Redknapp there were no questions about his [Adebayor’s] attitude. Last season, I wasn’t here so I don’t know what happened. When I came back pre-season, his attitude was fine.
“Obviously there was a bit of a disagreement between him and Andre but it is finished now. We are all grateful he is back in the team. He hasn’t got a point to prove, although he is playing as if he has. He looks fresh and he is causing teams a lot of trouble.”
Didn't seem to do Suarez any harm.
Apparently , according to Windy (COYS) in April 2012 (not long before he was sacked) Redknapp said Adebayor would never play for him again after Redknapp singled him out for criticism following our slump at the end of that season and they had a row.

It was also reported in the Mail as referenced in one of those articles.
We also had ITK in the summer that a lot of the players didn't like him much.
City virtually paid us to take him off their hands. When you consider how good Adebayor can be, I don't think it is beyond the realm of comprehension to understand why or how AVB and him fell out.
I am a huge fan of Adebayor's ability and really wish AVB had felt able to use him more, I think it could have made a big difference to our play and AVB's job. Just imagine the results and performances for Sherwood so far without Adebayor. But I can easily envisage a scenario where a manager puts his authority and the group harmony above a talented player in Adebayor's case. It would hardly be a first in his case.
I think first and foremost players are happy to win, and not be booed off the pitch...But in argument against that we've seen players come out in support of Ade saying they didn't know why he was frozen out, Rose now & Defoe earlier in the season are just 2 examples of this. From what i've seen the players on the pitch are happy to have him out there and have been very quick to celebrate his goals with him.

As for the Redknapp part he has been quoted in hoping to take Ade to QPR, so i'm not convinced that there's much in that.
