Honestly can’t believe how many Ins some want
Honestly depends on how many/who we sell. If rose goes then we will need a good LB. Need a CM to cover dembele but preferably a far more creative one. Malcom and/or RS in are fine as attacking options to compliment the current group.i don't know about buying a striker. Would keep llorente/vinny for next season and then just use sterling as a back up. I think with the attacking options available he would be granted a lot of scoring opportunities, especially with his extra pace. An eriksen back up might be needed too, but hopefully the CM we buy can control the tempo and create chances so maybe not.

Sell the dead wood.
Oh and maybe a keeper as vorm will probably leave.

So in: GK, maybe a LB, RS &/or Malcom, CM

Out: Vorm, maybe Rose, maybe Dembele, one of the strikers, GKN on loan again (I'm not ready to give up), maybe Trippier if we get enough for him but I don't mind if he stays, Sissoko (i like the lad and he keeps serge happy so again it is up to the club)

Leaves us with:

GK: Hugo, GK #2, PG

CB: Toby, Jan, Sanchez, Foyth, Tanganga as 5th choice

RB: SA, KWP, maybe Trips, Youth player

LB: Rose/new LB, Davies, youth player

DM: Wanyama, Dier

CM: Maybe Moose, Winks, New CM, Onomah (can also bring through skipp and TOB

AM: Dele, Eriksen, Son, Lucas, Lamela, Malcom+/RS, Edwards plus a plethora of other youth prospects

ST: Kane, Llorente/Vinny, Sterling

I have been dreaming of this player for windows now. I seriously think he is one of the most slept on, inexpensive, versatile players in today's game. Too bad there is no youtube collective tracking his abilities, but I watch Bayer purely to watch this guy play. Leon Bailey gets the plaudits this year, but Charles is in the engine room protecting the back and connecting the attack.

For Bayer he is a bit more defensive than he is for Chile where he gets forward a bit more. He isn't flashy, but he has very nice and tidy control and has quite a bit of guile to his game. Plus he is a bulldog. Great at cutting down angles.

If anyone looks at my history you will see I am the only one saying this guys name and I am beginning to think he is my man crush.

Not quite the only one:

July 2015:

What about Charles Aranguiz ?

I really don't know much about this guy, have only seen him play for Chile a handful of times, but has been quietly impressive when I have seen him, tenacious, dynamic, decent passer can play CM and can do box to box too ? And anyone who can flourish in Sampaoli's team has to be decent and disciplined tactically ?

If Vorm is off then I hope we see sense and replace him with an English keeper. I’d like to see ya sign David Button, he’s a good goalie who cane through our ranks and is able to play in a footballing side, having been successful with both Brentford and Fulham.

No need to touch the defence at all, give KWP a loan to a premiership side if he’s still behind all other fullbacks.

In midfield on the defensive side both Dier and Wanyama are fine, no changes needed. However, Winks is not looking ready yet, neither is Onomah, and Dembele’s best performances are becoming more sporadic. I would suggest that one of the young ones needs to be sold, Dembele demoted to ‘cavalry’ and a dynamic, creative player brought in. We’ve been linked to André Gomes but the bit part Barca player I’d love is Sergi Roberto, he’s very talented and is used as a utility man by them.

In attacking midfield there are four obvious untouchables, then the much maligned Sissoko and oft injured Lamela. I’d persist with Lamela as he has ability and we’d get little value in selling him, but as we are so well stocked there it surely must be time to recoup what we can on Sissoko and give a go to whoever has the better loan skill, Edwards or Nkoudou.

Up front, keep Llorente, he serves a purpose, ship Janssen, let Sterling or whoever our best youth striker is push the lanky streak of sangria for that bench spot.

Squad would look like:

Lloris Button Gazzaniga
Aurier Trippier
Alderweireld Sanchez
Vertonghen Foyth
Rose Davies
Dier Wanyama
Sergi Dembele Winks
Son Edwards
Dele Lamela
Eriksen Moura
Kane Llorente Sterling

HG: Button Trippier Rose Winks Edwards Dele Kane Sterling (6 of whom we produced).

Not sure you're right about Sergi Roberto mate. Started most games this season when fit and almost all at Right-Back.

Okay bit part was a bit excessive, he's started 2/3 of their league games, but I'd definitely say he's being used as a utility man as essentially he a cm playing at rb due to mistrust in their specialist options for the position.

Want:
Dembele from Celtic - ST
Gomes from Barca - CM
Malcom - AM * we’d need to then move on Lamela so not fussed either way on this one.

Other:
Sessengon: great talent and would love him at the club but if he’s a left winger and not a LB I’m not sure how much game time he’d get to be honest.

I would love us to get Dembele(being as this is a wish list thread) from Celtic but not the one you are talking about.

Every top club in Europe is watching this kid, and he has already played for Celtic's U20's.

Someone posted a clip on a Tugay N'Dombele who looks a much more productive version of our Dembele. Perhaps sign anyone whose name ends in bele.

We have pretty much a complete team - best set of defenders in the league imo, best striker in the league objectively, two excellent attacking midfielders (Alli and Eriksen), wingers like Son (who's underrated), Lucas (who I think will be very good for us), and Lamela, very good defensive midfielders (Wanyama, Dier), and quality central midfielders (Dembele and Winks). The one thing we could do with is a top class creative central midfielder (like a Modric type player). Our goal for the summer should be to identify targets that fit that description, and also maybe buy a young, prospective talent. Other than that, the most important thing is to keep all the players that we currently have. Doesn't make sense to sell anyone for any price when we have a team that operates well as it is.

Maddison, sessegnon, brereton in. Young, talented and english and can back up/rotate with key players.

Pulisic if sessegnon is a no go.

I think midfield needs a boost and a reduction in the average age next season. Dahoud and/or SMS from lazio.

Onomah and ccv to become part of squad. Edwards loaned out to a prem team if norwich spell goes well.

Id like to see gnk, llorente, janssen, sissoko, trippier sold on.

Decision to be made on rose and dembele fitness long term and whether they can produce each week. If any doubts, sell them before their stock plummets.

Heard a friend of a friend thing that Sessegnon visited Poch's house in Jan. The implication being he's coming our was in the summer. No idea how true it is, but I'd love it to be real.

Stories are that United are in advanced talks to sign Justin Kluivert. Interesting considering the ITK we have had on him. Unless we are walking away and moving on to other talks - or it's a load of crock.

I agree with giving Onomah and Edwards preseason to see if they can be worthwhile squad additions, which is why I don't think we need serious surgery. 2-3 additions should give us all-round selections to fight on all fronts. Malcom, Sees and a tempo setting CM who can break the lines when playing against banks of four.
