Not gonna lie that performance pissed me off big time. Dele and Lamela both opting to shoot when Kane is waiting for a tap in really pissed me off but what pissed me off most was Jermaine Jenas spouting constantly about a lack of spirit, effort and quality and calling out pretty much every player. Pot and kettle comes to mind. The amount of garbage he in particular served up on European nights was way more than anything we’ve seen tonight and more so as his performances were against pig farmers and part time plumbers on a Thursday night. It’s all Jenas fault.

From the intensity and effort from the first half against Palace, to a real lack of it from some today. Sanchez is not a good FB, and Davies has been out for weeks- both needed help, and got very little from midfield. Other than Winks, not many seemed interested in doing the dirty work. Eriksen looked like he was still at the training ground, thought he was particularly poor.

On a positive, Lucas finish was sublime, starting where he left off in the competition. And its a better start than last season..........COYS

Agreed. Poch's teams at their best are all about putting in the effort, the high intensity press. A few seasons ago you just knew that we would be at teams from the start and just show that we were willing to put in more intensity. Even when we lost I was immensly proud of the effort. The players no longer seem willing to commit to what must be very tiring tactics. I don't know how Pochettino can turn that around. So often these days we witness a tepid first half, Poch gives them a rocket at half time and then they come out much improved. Rarely do they start strong.

Tonight was certainly frustrating. Sanchez at RB is fine if we are playing against a team who will dominate possession, but tonight he had so much space ahead of him he just wasn't interested in using. It is concerning that he starts ahead of a natural right back in Walker Peters. If the kid doesn't have the manager's trust for a game like this which would play to his strengths, then we are seriously weak in that key position. Eriksen had an absolute mare, Dele looked rusty.

It is a point away, and I wouldn't be too worried about the result, what worries me is the signs that these players are no longer buying into the real high intensity football that is behind all the success Poch as brought.

I'd have taken a draw at the start, but after riding our luck initially and then going 2-0 up, it's hard not to be disappointed with the result.
There were too many under par performances by some of our players tonight, for most of the game we were slow and ponderous, and some of our decision making was poor on the pitch as we squandered some good situations by failing to pass for what would most probably have been a couple more goals and a win.

The most frustrating part was that we showed in very small patches in this game that when pressing them and upping our intensity, they looked vulnerable, but far too often we gave the initiative back to them or took our foot off the gas.

I'm not going to blame Sanchez, but it should have been obvious to anyone after the Arsenal game that he can't even play as a temporary stand in RB, and so it proved again this evening , so that one's on Poch.

It was frustrating not to capitalise fully on the back of the Palace performance but to end on a positive, we didn't lose like we did in the last minute of our first game in the CL away at Inter, so we're marginally better off than this time in the CL after game one.

We have everything in terms of infrastructure and players...Levy wont dwell....we are now a club of expectations not excuses....
Yep I see that, but too many see Poch as infallible. In my opinion, Poch doesn't have any get out of jail cards now he has been backed and when you spend that kind of money (assuming we cough up the full amount for Lo Celso) then it's right to expect performances to be much better.

Just finished watching the game on catch up. Really poor performance, both as a team and individually.

The amount of space given and the lack of urgency to stop their play in the first 30 mins was awful. In fact, the lack of movement generally from all our players both when in and out of possession was shocking at times. Not for the first time this season either.

Yeah we had some chances to win it as you would expect, but overall not good at all. Should win when two up with a few minutes to go before half time, but considering the way we played I’ll take that draw.

Only positives for me were Winks played his best game so far this season and I thought Sanchez looked quite solid and far less panicky on the ball. True, he offered next to no threat getting in behind out wide, but he’s a fish out of water there really. The whole RB situation is another Tottenham special of how to leave one glaring weaknesses in your team.

I miss the high intensity and quick passing with rapid counters too. It's all just so slow with nobody seemingly willing to take a chance on a risky pass.

Obviously disappointed with the result tonight but can’t fathom out some of the tactics when Erickson and Davies were both standing over the ball at the corner pretending to confuse the opposition we then had two players in useless positions surely Erickson would have been better waiting for a loose ball at the edge of the box

I agree. However we haven't really played consistently with that kind of intensity for the best part of 2 full seasons. I'm certain Pochettino still wants intensity but he's most likely also adapted his tactics towards a bit more pragmatic style of play.

I mean the opposite would mean that Pochettino hasn't been able get this group of players to play as he wants for over 2 years. In that case he might as well call it a day and resign.

Because the poster was waffling on about if after the Newcastle game. 'Oh Daniel won't wait, it might even be Mourinho' he seemed to revelling in it.

The post you quoted though has nothing in it about Poch losing the dressing room though, it’s about what’s expected of Poch at board level
