I’d sometimes love it if Poch could print off a post match SC match thread and read through it and explain himself and answer so of our questions because the journalists never get to the crux of it for us and let us know what is going on.

There needs to be some honesty from him. Not mixed messages and metaphors

The post you quoted though has nothing in it about Poch losing the dressing room though, it’s about what’s expected of Poch at board level

Given the melodramatic nature of his previous comments when we lost against Newcastle its pretty obvious what's being implied here.

Despite what the media says we, along with Arse and Manchester United, are in a season of transition.

The 'expectations' from Lord Levy are to secure Champions League qualification and have a tilt at a couple of pots as we bed in the first fold of our next generation this season.

We just drew our first CL game. Liverpool and Chelsea lost theres.

Sometimes it’s down to the players on the pitch. At 2 nil up we were still attacking with 6 players when all we needed to do was sit back and keep the ball. I posted so at the time, the next minute they got their first goal.

It was naive football.

I wouldn't want to inflict brain damage on our manager personally, tonight is another example of how ridiculous this forum can be, we were 2-0 up should have closed it out yeah but let's be honest we was lucky to be 2 up as the performance wasn't there but typically in these type of games the performance isn't there from most english teams in europe in the away games and is to be expected but people are panicking now questioning Poch and suggestions of losing the dressing room, it's laughable.

We can build on an away draw in the group stage of the champions league but personally feel Poch was right to prioritise the Leicester game, if we get a win there the rotation will be justified.

I thought Sanchez at right back was OK - much improved. No major defensive problems and some forceful attacking play, albeit without inspiration.

Our problems tonight were about collective lack of focus: passing limply to the opposition and an absence of creativity, the latter mainly due to Eriksen having one of those matches where absolutely nothing he did worked.

The first Olimpiacos goal was just a great ball and a great finish. Their penalty was caused by a criminal degree of fucking around- there were at least three unchallenged opportunities to clear the ball up the pitch, but everyone arsed about.

Olimpiacos are a good team, difficult to play against. On top of our form, we would beat them, but tonight a draw was a fair result.

How often this year can we claim to be on top of our form though? Surely our inability to produce top form more than once every now and then is the real issue?

I would suggest your description of our problems tonight are applicable in the majority of our games in the last 12 months.

I don't know if I'm more frustrated at our poor performance yet again, or the fact that still every page on here has a misspelling of Eriksen

How long will we be in transition for? What are we transitioning to? Which changes are we making to get there?

We've heard this 'transition' line since the 17-18 season. But we haven't seen squad overhauls, or large-scale youth integration, or a change of management - anything you'd typically associate with a transition. It sounds like nothing more than a catch-all excuse for a prolonged downturn in performances or results.

Overall, a point away from home to open the campaign is fine.

The performance however was dull and sluggish ...again. Getting a bit old now.

I'd take a draw, I dont believe this team is capable of anything more there without luck or and under and performing Leicester.

Ponderous and sloppy, its our new way of playing, that is apart from the first 10 minutes of the 2nd half when we started to press as a team.

I really don’t understand how you get that he’s implying he’s lost the dressing room from that post, you’re mixing two different things

I guess transitioning from George to Georgina. Oh sorry, wrong forum.

I guess transitioning from a team of seasoned pros who want to fuck off, seasoned pros who want to stay and some hot young bucks to....

An entire team that wants to be here, experienced and youthful exuberance

Like the one that came third in a two horse race only much better.

Another frustrating performance but unfortunately not one I didn’t see coming. I have no idea why we’ve stopped playing with intensity but we’re a far worse team for it. It’s like we try to win games with the minimum amount of effort, like we’ve got an eye on the next game, or run of games and only try to increase it when we go behind. The best teams play with great intensity from the start and play with it until the game is won. We do it the other way round.
