Tbf Dier should have really scored with his chance and that would have been 2-0 and a different game probably. We got the win and that is all that matters.

You have a different idea about what a well-coached team looks like, then. Not to mention attractive. But if 'coherent' means that we would win the ball in the opponents penalty area and have it back in our own within three passes, then yes, we were often coherent.
I know what you're getting at and I accept that we never had the forensic level of coaching that you see from teams like Barcelona and City under Guardiola. However we definitely had clear patterns of passing and pressing and were very easy on the eye a lot of the time. We also had the best defence in the league for 2 years running (probably some coaching involved there...).

If you honestly don't think we played attractive football at our best under Poch then I feel sorry for you. That was the best football I've seen Spurs play in the last 30 years.

Wolves forum:

Sat on a train north out of London, with loads of Spurs fans. They are all dreadfully civilised, not a train beer in sight.

spurs have a combination of so many unpleasant players, except for son really hard to like anyone on that team

That front four then is pretty frightening, but we can get at their midfield and full backs for sure.

Thrashed hit and hope. Top corner. Typical.

We are playing some brilliant stuff going forward.

Deli alli diving at every opportunity, horrible player.

for a supposedly crap keeper gazzaninga has made a few great saves

Playing them off the park.
Will be gutted if we don’t get an equaliser before half time.

WHAT. A. HIT! Adama Traore!!

LMAO what a tackle by Kane there

oh ffs come on

Cripes <-- this one is definitely my favourite :ROFLMAO:

Fucking hell. Can't believe we've lost that.

Didn't deserve to lose to those stains. Ref was a shitehawk as were most of their diving **** players. I'd happily see Eric Dier have a career ending lobotomy, trouble is I don't think they'd find anything to lobotomise...

spurs should have had a minimum of two red cards, the treatment of Adama was diabolical

What a fantastic game and performance though. Nuno is going to kill them for conceding such a daft goal though.

I could not agree more. A consistent keeper who is well positioned, anticipates very well and has assured handling ability. Feel more comfortable with him at the back than Hugo. Think Jose rates him as well.

Love the way he pushes the ball out wide when he makes a diving save to prevent opposition players scoring on the rebound. It's clearly something he's worked on and it you don't see many keepers do it as consistently well as him.

I think he struggles to get down to low shots and he was only really tested once today. He's a decent No.2

I thought we were outstanding. Defended fantastically well, had the best chances and got the win. Dier was very good but every single player put in a shift.

Totally agree. A tough away game in the pouring rain against a tough intense team who can play as well. I thought we put in an excellent performance. Would have been ok with a point considering the pressure they put us under but the winner really was reward for a real shift. Wolves are a hell of a team - don’t think anyone will fancy playing them.

Jose’s work is starting to show. We can sustain the level of intensity; and the organisation and team shape are looking far more solid. Players are not looking “over coached” but are taking the responsibility to play and make a few decisions. Everyone was very good - but I really liked Eric Dier’s performance. An intelligent player, he knits play and shape together. Jose clearly rates him.

Really strong commitment from the team today from the first whistle to the last. Lacking in quality at times but I’m encouraged by the performance and delighted with the win.

I don't know why top teams get ex-players back to manage them, it rarely, if ever, works. We tried it 3/4 times, all of them disastrous.

He had a great game today, but he has one glaring weakness in that he's not great with hard, low shots just to the side of him...seems to concede far too many like that.
Hugo isn't great with the ball at his feet, but he's a top shot stopper.

I have not seen the match only the commentary and multiple times we have over the years we have been the best team only to lose quite sickening really . So for us to win against the run of play is great from my prospective long may it continue.
Incidentally the stats say there was nothing in it and it could have gone either way .
Expected goals (IE) XG. Wolves -72 spurs- 52 = nothing in it and as the away team superb .

Disagree. That header he kept out was rapid and low. He commands his area well and organises lines quickly. The only time I’ve thought he could have done better was for Rashfords shot at the near post but even that one was not easy. Think he’s a good solid keep who will give us a 7 or 8 / 10 each week.

It's a lovely feeling come the end of the weekend when we've bagged three points but the big teams around us fall short, with both United and Chelsea dropping points.

On a completely different subject, I see that Arsenal are 0-3 down at half time...

Understat has it .72 to wolves and .99 for spurs. Either way it’s a massive defensive improvement

Depending on your view we either played well and had a plan or didn’t and we were shit. Both valid opinions. But...I get enough shit from other teams fans saying we didn’t deserve it. We scored twice they scored once, whatever happened in between, we deserved it by virtue of goals. Plus the xg that I don’t understand but know we won. Enjoy it, we haven’t for a while.

Don't think it was, it was probably waist high maybe a little lower, when I say low I mean along the ground
