Mourinho on failure to sign new striker: I cannot lie, it's not easy

Our scouts must be shit if they can't identify someone who can do a decent job up front. And as for the Kane "always first choice" argument, it would be nice if he had some competition from a versatile forward who can play across the front. And we don't even know if Kane will be the same player after his hamstring rupture.
Absolutely spot on.

Kane as a sole squad striker wouldn't be enough for United, City, Arsenal or Chelsea. I have no idea why we see fit to allow it to happen either.

Because we massively lucked out with him and certain senior people decided we could play him virtually every game until he broke.

I can't help feeling that Jose will regret his decision to join spurs his usual MO is to win trophy at clubs he goes to, and yet what chance has he got here when we can't even provide a striker for him this is heading for disasterville. ?
I know Levy won't burst the purse strings, we never expect him to either based on the year's he's been with us but being without a front man till April and trying to get top four, an F.A cup run and competing in the CL, is gonna prove to be an impossibility.

Until he broke down three seasons on the spin and then we looked at retiree's as his alternatives in the meantime.
I mean I'm even at the stage that I'm begging for Rondon to become available because at least he bullies sides and would fit Jose's bill nicely.

Erm unless we tried and nothing suitable or better than we have is available or willing. Does it have to bad a 'bad judgement' conclusion or should we have signed Andy Booth from Sheffield which would still be criticised by you?
I don't mind your disagreement with my post, but for you to mention what you said above is laughable.

For anyone to think it's about not finding an adequate replacement or stop gap is not acceptable anymore.

Levy has his agenda and it's all financial gain. He is running this football club like an investment property scheme.

You cannot tell me that there is no player out there that can improve us up front. It's so easy to improve us up front as we currently don't have anyone there. And playing Lucas or son up front doesn't work as they are wingers and moving them up front, we lose the threats from the wing.

I am not even bother as to want ever you think because, all my comments can be packaged and replayed for the last 10 transfer windows and it is the same scenario. Basically not strengthen the squad with position that need filling.

We have to face it, with levy in charge we will still operate with the small club mentality.

Let's see what the world best stadium will get us.

Three years ago, I was living the dream... finally became a season ticket holder after years of waiting. The vision was there, training ground best around, plan for a top notch stadium.

Financial investment of the fabric is great, but that financial fabric wins nothing unless channeled to the core of spurs which is the playing side.

We are not an investment house but football club.

My dream has become reality, I have woken up from Levy's dream and seeing the reality of it all. You can live in it, and hoping it changes (I pray it does). But I have seen it all, heard it all. Managers taking the blame all the time.

Only a dreamer will keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result.

No point having the so called world's best stadium when all you want to do is try to fill it up with shit from Aldi perhaps it's the chairman who has the small mentality, but the apologists will keep on apologising.

Eventually the novelty of the new stadium will wear off ( has already started to with me tbh) and we’ll be left with just the important part; what occurs on the pitch.

Well no one should get in the way of you guys right to be negative and keep having a good whinge. In my opinion 'small club mentally' is way, way off the mark. COYS

I suppose the frustrating thing for me is that at one point ITK said Sociedad would take just about any deal for Jose Willian. That could have got the job done but we faffed around over Piatek and Giroud and then ended up scrabbling around in 'lastminute.com' as usual. I'm quite glad I didn't wake up this morning to find we'd signed Odion Ighalo though.

Over Willian Jose though, there were mixed messages. We got the ITK that pretty much any deal could have been done but there were other sources that said that they wanted a decent amount for him. It would have been more annoying if other premier league teams had snapped up a striker but apart from United, everyone else struggled.

What the new stadium will get us is world record profits on a continued annual basis the record is subject to pot luck and whatever the manager can achieve with restrictions.
I just cannot see Jose sticking it out here especially after now seeing what we are all about, one month to get a striker in and yet we spend the last two days sniffing around a 33 year old from Chelsea that just seems laughable from the 8th richest club in the world this just sums us up.
So now it's make do time again trying to negotiate our way through the CL, FA cup and finish as high as we can without a recognised striker but instead use son and moura both of whom at the moment are struggling to hit a barn door.
Nevertheless on a plus note both rose and eriksen are gone so that should help with a better vibe around the club along with sending people out on loan which helps reduce the wage bill.

Sure, wedon't know how Sociedad would have played it and all the ITKneeds a pinch of salt.

I'd walk away in his shoes, should realize by now he won't get out of this job without rep being at least bit tarnished. But walk now and it will be less tarnished than later on with Levy getting 95% of blame.

He has no tools to play his game meaning it will be bad spring on field reflecting to dressing room thus making long term plans more difficult. Also he has seen empty promises of Levy and knows If chairman can't deliver even stop gap striker, he can't ever deliver long term tools he is looking for.

Hopefully we'll see Troy Parrott get some chances now that he's not going out on loan - I know that Jose said that he won't get rushed into the side.

You would have thought that Jose would have done background check on levy and his posse and known all about his methods, but I think even he might have been surprised by this latest offering of a lack of striker it is a corker. :)

Seriously?? He should walk away now?? After only being here a few months and already starting to rebuild for the future?? Why do some numpties on here believe Jose to be a mug who signed for us without having any idea about the mechanics of our club?? We’re rebuilding for the future, it may take a while or a couple more transfer windows at the very least but things are definitely happening and I can’t see Jose going anywhere...
