You would have thought that Jose would have done background check on levy and his posse and known all about his methods, but I think even he might have been surprised by this latest offering of a lack of striker it is a corker. :)
I'm starting to think that both Levy and Jose are agreed that this season is a write off...hence the lack of panic buying any old stopgap striker this window.
It'll become clearer with Jose's interviews from now on, if he starts digging the club out for not getting one then I'm wide of the mark.

The fans don't want to hear it, there'll be tears and rage when it comes true, but it's very very likely we won't be a CL club next season.
One season out of the CL won't kill us as a club, 2/3 years out has much bigger implications.

Seriously?? He should walk away now?? After only being here a few months and already starting to rebuild for the future?? Why do some numpties on here believe Jose to be a mug who signed for us without having any idea about the mechanics of our club??

Mechanics of the club? What is that, ability to fuck things up? And yes, reckon he was numpty enough to believe club wouldn't leave him without a striker for half a season seeing that physical striker is neccesity for his gameplay.

Hence calling all over China on last minute to sign any striker for short term on last minutes of window?

SC the day after realising that spurs don't have a fit striker for half a season.

I'd walk away in his shoes, should realize by now he won't get out of this job without rep being at least bit tarnished. But walk now and it will be less tarnished than later on with Levy getting 95% of blame.

He has no tools to play his game meaning it will be bad spring on field reflecting to dressing room thus making long term plans more difficult.

That's bollocks though. Firstly he's been here literally 5 minutes, he wont have all the tools he needs. Injury disruption is also part and parcel of football.

He should still be able to play his/counter attacking football. There was no problem doing it vs. Southampton last week, the lack of sticking the ball in the back of the net wasn't anything to do with new signings because they were chances park league players could have scored. It was squarely Son and Moura (primarily) having a crap day.

We have Son, Moura, Bergwijn, Alli's best work for us has always been done effectively as a forward, we have won (big) games before with Lamela as a false 9, Sessegnon has played plenty in attack, and a promising youth in Parrott who can be drip fed into it. Hardly poverty for a few months and there is enough talent there that I'd be expecting those players and a professional football manager who is paid what he is, and apparently the greatest in the modern era, to be able to adapt tactics and find a way of playing.

Tbh anyone who thinks that signing Ighalo or an Israeli no ones ever heard of was suddenly going to thrust us back into the race for top 4 is a bit naive to say the least

It's just an angry guy projecting his feelings.
What's funny is the thought that anyone in their right mind would 'walk' away from a £15m per year contract.

Well at least they would have allowed Jose to play the game way he wants to instead of throwing the team into a limbo for half a season.

But the club did think that, otherwise they would not have been trying for them when the 4 or 5 others we wanted didn't happen.
So who is naïve, I would say the club in this instance.

To me this has just been a treading water window, we haven't fixed any of our major issues for this season.

Well we will see about it, just hope any animosity after tripe performances from fans is thrown at Levy, not towards Jose or players and any frustration from dressing room when we play badly and hit the shite run is vented towards board room, not management.

Well that depends on the circumstances of what I see, bollocks football is still down to players and coaches. I repeat there is enough talent and options there to be able to do something. There has been for the last 12 months, there still is now.

I'd also argue that in this transition season, and Mourinho's honeymoon period, should be all about experimenting, assessing the current options, and not being afraid to try and fail.

But then a) I'm not a fan who is still clinging to hopes of a top four finish, and b) I don't see everything about football in terms of transfers and the short term.

Almost every job ive had there are negative whinging people same as on here who disregard what is being done to fix things, disregard the good and positive things and if everything isnt as they want 'RIGHT NOW', its doom and gloom. I just dont bother listening to them.

To do something that doesn't fit philosophy or long term plans of Jose. And eventually players and coaches are hired by Levy, buck stops there. I can't understand how bald Mike Ashley hired Jose if he doesn't back him even with basic tools fitting his game. Next we have Pep with Richard Dunne and Andy Carroll on pitch.

I'd also argue that in this transition season, and Mourinho's honeymoon period, should be all about experimenting, assessing the current options, and not being afraid to try and fail.

Make no mistake about it, honeymoon between Daniel and Jose is already over no matter what club leaks out. And if manager has vision on how he wants to play, what is point on experimenting different approaches that won't be used longer term. Again it's Pep and hoofball merchants scenario - Pep, experiment some direct approach??

But then a) I'm not a fan who is still clinging to hopes of a top four finish, and b) I don't see everything about football in terms of transfers and the short term.

Neither am I btw.
