I mean it depends what you mean by movement. A lot of times Kane goes deep to open up spaces for others.

Yes, Kane has changed, and people have to deal with that. He doesn't have the legs anymore to do that, and he plays deeper. But he does a lot of good things and still scores a lot of good goals. But you can't expect him to go chasing everything anymore. His peak is probably over, but he is still far and away our best player (I mean along with Son).

What shows effort to you. Players are given a plan, and idea of what they are meant to do, I suspect Kane is told not to go chasing players, because Jose isn't super press and we have quicker players who can press quicker.
Like I have mentioned in Kane thread, his poor showing already started at the end of last season, continuing to this, even when Poch was here. You wouldn't think he could have chased every ball from the front and stormed through those defence and scored and proved to the gaffers his ability is way more effective than drawing defences out for the wide players to play? I would. But whether he can or still wanna do that is another matter. And only he has the answer.

The pogba obsession sky have is weird.

Of course he looked good when he came on, we weren't pressing him. The guy had tonnes of space

First half good. Second half bad.

I thought it was pretty suicidal to just sit deep and defend when Utd were pressing hard. Dier and Sanchez were both excellent for the most part but the goal was clearly coming and we desperately needed to change things up.

Gedson on the wing wasn't exactly what I had in mind.
Sanchez gifted Utd a chance that Rashford should have scored from and Dier gifted them the penalty. Oh for a central defender who was just good for the whole match and doesn’t make schoolboy errors.

Bearing in mind that the football at end of the Poch era had become dull and predictable (whilst certainly not knocking all he'd done in previous seasons) and that was probably due in no small part to being unable to bring in the players that he really wanted and now Jose is probably in a similar situation (although he must have known that this would be the situation, can we realistically expect decent football and to be challenging near the top of does something have to give? We all know that Poch worked wonders with what he had but in the end even be couldn't do it forever. I'm not trying to start one of those tedious pro v anti ENIC debates - I'm neither a huge advocate for ENIC not a huge critic but what is realistic to expect at this point? Is it better to have decent football above all else or sacrifice it for challenging with the top 5?
For me the current squad is quite unbalanced and the team building has been poor. So for this season I just want improved results.

But you hire a manager like Jose for short term results. He needs to identify the kind of players and character we require quickly. I will be judging Jose quite harshly next season.

Sessegnon could have played, Tanguy could have played as a 10... seriously... if we would have Parrott fit on the bench he would not have used him.

Thats all maybe not the prime options to have, but still fresh legs and lets be honest...the problem is the shape...not the missing attacking subs.
Tanguy as a 10??? In a game where we are defending deep??

That's not to his strengths at all. He needs to receive deeper, he's not a back to goal, initiate contact and spread the pitch type. he needs the pitch in front of him.

I have no qualms with Jose s subs. If Lucas and Alli had been available I'm sure we'd have seen them both and I think the plan would have come off

Next season would be fair I think.

Disagree, theres something there. He's so raw though.
What’s there? Genuine question. Every time I’ve seen him the best he can manage is to control a pass, and make a safe pass that slows things down. He doesn’t play killer passes, run past his man, cross the ball particularly well, look comfortable in possession, get in dangerous positions or offer any physical threat, and he’s only about 20 months younger than Bergwijn.

If he played for the opposition, I’d be reasonable happy to see him on the pitch

There was nothing wrong with the system we played today. Lamela, whilst he played well enough, was so, so wasteful in the final third. Put Lo Celso or Ndombele there and it’s a different story. Likewise, if Kane actually bothered to play today, I honestly think we would’ve been 2/3-0 up in this match. We looked comfortable for a large chunk of the game.

Take your realism elsewhere please, where the hell do you think you are

This bullshit about they have a better squad

Do people actually believe that?

Add dele and Lucas and how is their squad better?
The majority of the squads are on par but Pogba and Fernandez are the two best out there.
that was very clear tonight.
Kane is way off his best. Son=Rashford.
Our CB depth is better. I’d rather have Utd full backs.
But missing out on Fernandez was massive for us and Utds gain.
Him in the team since Christmas, I’d bet we out in Utd’s position right now.

Utd has quality and depth tonight.
Jose himself said he had nothing but CBs on the bench

[QUOTE="ljinko888, post: 6838361, Kane played like he had a piano on his back.
[/QUOTE]. Yes but we didn’t get a tune out of him all night?

I was surprised that Geo wasn't taking the free kicks and corners - he has shown time and again that he is our best dead ball crosser.
