When people said a front 3 of Kane Son and Bale I always had in my head Bale and Son both play left.... But a lot of that clip is bale playing wide right!

Wide right is a great position for Bale, because he can take his man on, cut inside and hit a pile-driver with his left foot.

Tasty!

Levy would have known that this will be an exorbinant amoutn of money yet pursudes it as the ITK suggested so he must be prepared somewhat to do the deal.

But sometimes you get to that point and decide not to go for it. I would understand if we didnt go for it but this would be a statement signing of all signings. This would seriously propel us into another sphere in my view and would be a catalyst for other players to perform at an even higher level

I would also hazard a guess and say anything to do with naming rights would be even more favourable with someone like Bale in full force...

Bale played as a RWF mainly under AVB at Spurs too. Last tiem he played as a left winger was under Redknapp with Lennon on the right and Crouch through the middle with VDV.

Think I have the Redknapp Bale stuck in my mind when I think of bale and forgot we played him out right also.

Trix has confirmed this is a deal purely for us.

I read that as Bale's team have agreed to sacrifice more of the wages for us cos we're his preference. However that can and probs will change when Levy pisses about and asks for more money off. Then he'll say fuck them then I'll go to United.

If I recall correctly, back in the day he often did that for us. I'm sure though he used to roam a fair bit and had a bit of a free role.

I presume you haven't watched much of Gareth for the past few years then?

Bale did indeed play on the right for us, especially in the AVB era. Which at the time led to chants of "Gareth Bale, he plays on the left" from tactical experts in the stands!

If we managed to get this done and sign that other striker as well, suddenly my expectations for this season improve a great deal. Kane leading the line with Bale and Son cutting in from wide, supported by Hojbjerg, Lo Celso, and a motivated, eager to prove themselves Ndombele and Dele? Doherty making overlapping runs? Lloris, Toby and Dier marshalling the defence? Fantasic.

Bloody shame really that there's more chance of me getting a titwank off Salma Hayek.

Levy doesn't take financial risks like this, with everything we have lost financially I am not expecting him to pull the trigger on this deal.

We are already stacked with talent in the positions he plays, we need to use what resources we have available to strengthen areas we are lacking in.

At 31 we will recoup little to none in any transfer fee we would have to pay and he won’t be cheap!
He will want at least what are top earners are on and I would imagine more, which may cause problems.

Players like Kane and others may think it’s a good idea to move to bigger clubs to win things then return as a hero.

He is not the same pace merchant he once was, he is injury prone.

For all those reasons as romantic as it seems I hope we steer clear of this move, the only upsides I can really see are commercial.

Are you seriously suggesting that signing Bale would encourage our best players to leave?

I've seen a lot written about Spurs needing a creative midfielder, and several recent posts on here about needing one more than having Bale back. Presumably because we seem to have trouble breaking down teams that sit deep ? But as someone who was lucky enough to have a season ticket that covered the period Bale was with us, i can assure you that the best way to win a game against a team sitting deep is to have someone who can smash a 25 yarder into the top corner as accurately and as often as Bale can !

Not only the fact he can bang them but if people try and close him down, hello space.

Signing Bale would do more than just give us a potential great player. It would make the squad and fans believe. That’s really important when you are trying create a winning mentality
This is probably the argument I am looking for. I cannot get past the age and injury concerns but this is a good counter argument.

Nah, mate, you had it right the first time. AIA actually recently transformed their whole PR messaging.

Fucking hell...

Ideal-world first 18 from what we already have and Bale?

--------------------Lloris--------------------
Doherty--Toby----Dier-----Davies
------------------Højbjerg-----------------
------Ndombele-----Lo Celso-------
--Bale------------Kane-----------Son--

Hart/Gazzaniga, Tanganga, Sánchez, Sessegnon, Winks, Dele, Bergwijn.

I say again: "Fucking hell".

He was the other player that immediately sprung to mind when I watched Kane twat that one in in the demolition of Burnley last season. They're the only two players I've seen for us capable of that on a consistent basis.

No idea whether we'll sign him or not, but for those doubting his ability this YT clip selection is useful...

Even after a tough year where he was hardly motivated, he's still got skill, swagger, pace and strength in spades.

I honestly think we'd win the league if we signed him...

...and imagine if NDombele decided to live up to his ability level too!!

Holy moly!!

Imagine if Bale preferred football to golf!

Bale would need one good game with a goal from outside of the box and suddenly we cause all sorts issues for teams as you have to work out how to mark Kane, Bale and Son knowing that two of them rifle them in from outside the box
